Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Leigh

I'm sorry I took so long! I hope you find something amazing on this list!

Costa Rica

TBR: The Dirt on Ninth Grave -- definitely some protection given and needed in this one and there aren't any people on the cover!

NEW: Everything, Everything -- it's ya, romance, protection, no people and one of my favorite books of 2015.

Greece

TBR: Starcrossed, tagged as Greek mythology, sounds really interesting!!

NEW: Divine By Mistake, tagged as mythology. I thought it was a really fun book. I need to figure out where I put my copy of the 2nd one.

Las Vegas

TBR: Rock Addiction, I devoured this series. Really liked it.

NEW: Sweet Filthy Boy It's smutty so I'm not sure if you are in to that BUT I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story.

Myrtle Beach, SC

TBR: The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie This one sounds fun!

NEW: Secrets of a Summer Night trees on cover and family is important. One of my favorite series.

Orlando, FL – Walt Disney World/Universal Studios

TBR: Heh, I don't even have to think about this one. Written in Red

NEW: Stars of Fortune I'm not going to tell you how it fits the category but I really enjoyed this! It wasn't a typical Nora.

Panama City Beach, FL

TBR: I'm kind of cheating on this one and going with the best selling book. I don't recognize much on your list as South or cooking so I took the easy way out. Me Before You

NEW: The Girl Who Chased the Moon cakes and the South. What more can you ask for?

Puerto Rico

TBR: The Darkest Night travel to Budapest, meet some vampires!

NEW: The Forgotten Garden One of the only historical authors I'll read.

Republic of Ireland

TBR: Midnight Bayou it's green enough!

NEW: Born in Fire Ireland

I hope you find something good! Anything marked as NEW is something I've read so I know they're good (to me anyway). Again, I'm sorry it took so long!

Pam | 1048 comments Hi Brett-
Sorry for the delay….coming in under the wire. It's been a crazy week so I am overcompensating with my list because I made you wait. I may be heavy on the history side--it's nice to see someone who enjoys. If you want some more light and frothy suggestions, let me know.
Costa Rica: New to you Shadow Fall (Tracers, #9) by Laura Griffin a twofer: MC provides protection and a forest. Series does not need to be read in order OR Deep in the Valley (Grace Valley Trilogy, #1) by Robyn Carr which has no people on the cover. This is a Robyn Carr with some connection to Virgin River but I really like this trilogy. From your TBR Fall of Poppies Stories of Love and the Great War by Heather Webb which will be published March 1 and has no people on cover. I added this to my TBR--thanks.

Greece: New Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep this has a mythological base, is ya but I like better than Vampire Academy. It's an older, female Percy Jackson OR partially set in Africa Little Bee by Chris Cleave which is a little outside the romance but I found provocative.

Las Vegas: New Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott musicians, Vegas and marriage. I like this series OR from your TBR The Chief (Highland Guard, #1) by Monica McCarty which has marriage as part of the story

Myrtle Beach: From your TBR Cold-Hearted Rake (The Ravenels, #1) by Lisa Kleypas which emphasizes family Or The Wanderer (Thunder Point, #1) by Robyn Carr which is another feel good Robyn Carr series that I am currently working my way through.

Orlando: Going all paranormal here and all from your TBR
How to Run with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #3) by Molly Harper I really like Molly Harper, especially in audio OR Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews This is one of my favorite series that I think only keeps getting better OR Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs another favorite series that just gets better.

Panama City (the only place I haven't been) All new to you. Why not read the classic Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell or also from the South The Help by Kathryn Stockett . A book with a baker that I really liked The Baker's Daughter by Sarah McCoy

Puerto Rico all historical and new to you: The Postmistress by Sarah Blake or The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer or March by Geraldine Brooks . I love the idea of the last one--it is told from the point of view of the father from Little Women.

Ireland: long time span The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah or Firefly Lane (Firefly Lane, #1) by Kristin Hannah which I read last month in PIFM and sobbed the last 50 pages OR actual Ireland Iced (Fever, #6) by Karen Marie Moning the next book in MacKayla Lane series but from Dani's point of view.

Awesome!! :D I highly recommend the spin-off series set in the same world too. Read the short story before the first full book! You'll be super lost otherwise and won't appreciate the series nearly as much -- Alpha & Omega.

I'm definitely planning on reading the spin-off... thank you for letting me know about reading the short story first! I tend to ignore all of the little .5s in between books, so I would have definitely skipped it otherwise :)

I probably read less historical than I do either contemporary or paranormal, but I have certain authors that I do really enjoy, and Lisa Kleypas is one of them. And as far as Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor: A Novel goes, I liked that one a lot too - made even more special by the fact that Friday Harbor, WA is only about 60 miles from where I live. Of course, since I live out in the middle of nowhere it's 60 miles that includes some windy, 2-lane country roads and also a ferry ride, so it seems a lot farther away than it is. I'm ashamed to say that as close as it is, I've never been there, unless it was with my parents when I was too young to remember. Someday...
