Amanda | 1527 comments https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanis%...

It says novels and short stories under Science Fiction, and then there are essays which include philosophical writings.

If I can progress through a Mega finish quickly my library card is getting a slamming later in the season!

Thanks for the pointer - he's on the list!

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) | 5279 comments Could Dave Eggers be added, please?

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/e/d...

Also, is it required to get these authors on the list in advance?

Got him.

No, it isn't absolutely necessary, but posting here rather than in the Completed Tasks thread will make scorekeeping easier. (My brain works in a somewhat compartmentalized way.)

The link goes to an extract from Encyclopedia Britannica Online and mentions:

Season of Migration to the North (Novel)
The Wedding of Zein & Other Stories (Short Stories)
A multivolume autobiography (Non-fiction)

WorldCat also lists him as co-author of "Nationalism, Islam and World Literature : Sites of Confluence in the Writings of Mahmud al-Masadi", an e-book which sounds non-fiction to me.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14244 comments Yes

Doris Lessing
Tayeb Salih

Denise | 1820 comments Ruth Rendell

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_...

Novels and short story collections are obvious, but she has written at least one non-fiction history: Ruth Rendell's Suffolk

BPL Worldcat lists it as history

Also a political tract: Undermining The Central Line

Would that be sufficient for a third category for this task?

Thanks! And Rendell combos with 20.2 Graham Greene and 10.7 Four Letter Names!

message 193: by Rosemary (new)

Rosemary | 4299 comments What if they write under pen names? Ruth Rendell is Barbara Vine - so would Barbara Vine count, or would she have had to have published different forms under the name Barbara Vine too? I think as Barbara Vine she has only published novels.

We look at each author name as a separate entity.

So, it will be part of my bonus list, if it turns up. Otherwise I need to make sure it fits for next season ;)
