Either way really amazing !"

Remind me the question!

We met at a Convention in Baltimore. My cousin told me she wanted to introduce me to this "nice guy". I just got out of a relationship and really wasn't interested in meeting guys.

Plus, I tend to gravitate towards knuckleheads and no good thugs (as my dad called them) so when I met this nice, shy and quiet guy. I thought he was so nice. He was staring at my boobs and my face like I was the second coming of Halle Berry. It was quite flattering. I mean he was looking at me like I was All that. Then he said "you are so beautiful."

The diva in me was doing a Miss America wave to my adoring audience of when and I was like "well yes, yes, I am very beautiful."

He was tongue tied and just stood staring at me while my cousins and others talked. He managed to be right next to me all the time like a little stalker. And managed to squeak out "do you want to watch a movie?"

I agreed. And we went to see the ORiginal Kings of Comedy down the street from Marriott where the convention was. And of course, my cousin told EVERYONE because my 3 brothers, and my cousins showed up in the same aisle we were at.
They claimed they wanted to watch the movie too, but they all sat by us. That was our first date, the same evening we met.

The next morning at breakfast, word had travelled because both of parents showed up to the hotel restaurant at we all ate together.
My dad said he was just happy for me to date someone without a misdemeanor or felony record, LOL. No more collect calls from Jail. My husband was a 1st year medical student then so quite different from athletes and jocks that I preferred. He is also the first guy who I KNEW thought I was the best thing since sliced bread.

So I don't believe in Love at first sight. I do think there is "connection" or attraction at first sight. I can grow if nurtured into love. Love implies something more intimate that can only be gained through knowing something and accepting them despite flaws. I also don't believe in Soulmates. I believe in people we are highly compatible with. I would be compatible with Steph Curry, Henry Cavil, Chris Hemsworth, Rick from The Walking Dead etc. Those dudes ring my bell :D

My cousin was one of my bridesmaids 3 yrs later. She said she thought he was a good match for my personality.
I am outgoing, talktative and a huge extrovert. He is an introvert, he loves books and we do BRs together. In fact, he got me into audiobooks.

Our first series BR was Hidden Empire (The Saga of Seven Suns, #1) by Kevin J. Anderson . He isn't a big romance person and he doesn't like m-m. He likes Military Sci-Fi like Dauntless (The Lost Fleet, #1) by Jack Campbell etc.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments I really like Ella's comment about being "mired in self deception". Yes, very true.

Also, I think I hate Tara now. She said Ella was toxic to her? I understand that Candy is toxic but not Ella. If so, why leave your kid there for 3 months? I don't think she said Thanks for the help, I'm sorry for the inconvenience to you. SMH

Nice with the well yes I'm beautiful :)

I'm so glad you found someone like that ❤

And I also do not believe in love at first sight but that there should be a connection which grows ❤

Chris Hemsworth and Henry cavill * moony eyes *

I don't hate Tara . I somehow get how her childhood might have messed her up and she would have low self esteem issues and be easily led. And then in the hands of Noah Cardiff if he is such a charismatic influencer and he has to be since he is the principal preacher in a megachurch i see how she could easily have been persuaded and manipulated .

And then anything which threatened her beliefs in the guy would make her lash out in denial.

I'm done with the book . The ending was pretty predictable but happy.

Though I would have even liked it if it were bittersweet !

You will know what i mean when you come to it.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments I'm done too. I'll finish the DQ questions a little later. It was predictable.

The sister Tara, smh.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Loved you and your husband's story, Ezi. Thanks for sharing it.

I don't mind when a man says "Mine!" to a woman, either.

Yes, Tara was very self-centered, but in an oblivious sort of way. (I actually disliked the mother tons more. Ugh!) Good catch about Tara never saying "Thanks!"

It was my pleasure.

Tara had entitlement issues because of her immaturity. The baby and the responsibility wasn't what she wanted. She didn't want to have to care for another person's needs unless it gave back in equal measure--tangible measure

Very true Ezi .

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments I have to say that I rather enjoyed this book. IT's a different feel from her HR series which is where I started with Lisa Kleypas.
But I am enjoying her CR work too.

I am assuming the next book is about the injured brother Joe Travis?

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

It is and I actually prefer her HR more.

Yes it's about Joe.

message 65: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments Of course. Her HR is my absolute favorite body of work in ALL genres. She took Julie Garwood's spot as my favorite HR writer.

I was just surprised that I liked it because I didn't enjoy Julie Garwood's CR that much
