Hi Eric and welcome!Sometimes we discuss here how horror and reality blur, combining writing (double-writing in your case) and full time job and many other diverse topics -:)
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!
Hi N.L. and welcome,Yeah, joining groups is indeed a nice way to meet people and stay on top of international events. Unless your Subaru is amphibious, it might be harder to travel overseas, so we are here from different corners of the globe to put all long distance stuff onto the plate -:)
You'll definitely meet some fellow historical romance authors here.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!
Hi, newbie here from Australia. Alex invited me. I'm a new author (11/9/16 published). I joined GR to meet like minded people and get information on how to get my book to readers. I've sold three copies so far (two to friends and the third im not sure!) and working on marketing to get the book out there. I have joined the author program here but Im still waiting for it be be finalised by GR. I'm currently checking GR daily so I'll see you around.
Hi James and Welcome!Congrats on new release and first sales. What genre is it?
You'll find lots of successful marketing tips here as well as things that have less proven results to consider what works best for you.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!

what you say and what we're concerned with here are all intertwined.
have you watched the movie, Snowden, yet?
welcome, Ron!
Welcome, N.L., James, Ron, and Eric!Don't forget to add your books to the group bookshelf! Also when you run a promo, don't forget to add it to the Promo Events & Group Projects folder.
We have an author resources spreadsheet that you might find interesting in the Author Resources folder.
Lastly, as Nik, the group founder, is fond of saying:
"Do whatever--responsibly. Get rich! Have fun!"

We have historical fiction writers. Marie is one of them.
I made a kimono for my daughter a couple of years ago for a school presentation. Didn't turn out that great, but it was usable. She liked it. Now I pay her to sew my shirt buttons back on.
Thanks for the welcome! Nik, the BISAC subject I chose for my book is in Visionary and Metaphysical fiction. It's in Fiction & Literature in iBooks. Since I've been on GR (not that long) I've noticed just about everybody is on Kindle so I'm thinking about changing to Kindle (Amazon) from D2D.
Unless you want to go with Amazon exclusively, i.e. enrolling into Amazon 'select', you don't necessarily need to change anything, you can just add your book and enroll it to kindle
Hi everyoneVance Huxley is a pen name, because I'm not too comfortable with the lack of privacy once your name hits the internet. Kinda old-fashioned.
Worked at everything from serving burgers and navvy to managerial - in the UK, then I fell into writing books, after just writing down lots of scenarios. Wasn't looking to publish but a publisher contacted me (I know, the wrong way round), so I said yes thanks. :-)
I'm still trying out genres (After 5 books) but I'm looking forward to the discussions on here about the state of the world in general. I'm not a great contributor I'm afraid so might not comment very often.
I'm all for making money, and luckily if it happens I'm probably too old to lose it all (trying might kill me) :-)
Thanks for the invite.
Pleased to make your acquaintance Vance :) And you are one of the lucky ones to have a publisher come to you...good show!!
Hi Vance and welcome,You might recall some of your long-fortgotten skills here, since our burger consumption rises dramatically while we dissuss world issues -:)
If a publisher found its way to you, I'm sure the money can too, but we are here to help and exchange ideas how to make their way easier and faster -:)
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!

Lovely to see you here Vance as I'm a big fan of The Forest and the Farm. Your cat is gorgeous too, welcome!

Hi everyone! I'm Zee. Tara invited me and this looked like a great place to hang out at, so here I am :)I'm an author, and also an English/French - French/English translator and editor. Living in Mauritius (tiny speck of a tropical island in the Indian Ocean!). So yeah, you prolly won't be able to shut me up once I start talking/posting, but I'm looking forward to meeting ye all!
Hi Zee and Welcome!Almost telepathic, that when we discuss different exotic locations, here you are hailing from one of them -:)
You'll probably need all your skills here as sometimes we have untranslatable stuff going on here..

Beinvenue, Zee! Is that a barbed wire fence or a stone wall that your heroines sit on?
Willkommen, Stef! Are doctors allowed to write about zombies or is it against the Hippocratic Oath?
btw, a few weeks ago some of the members released an anthology called, No Bounds - An Anthology of Short Fiction, and all proceeds go to Medecins Sans Frontieres. I read the first story which was quite humorous.
Stef wrote: "Perhaps doctors may only write about attempting to cure Zombies. :D"The first hurdle is to identify them as such -:)
Thanks for the welcome Vance, Alex, & Marie!Alex - it's a wall...with barbed wire on the Indian side so the heroine cannot fall to the 'dreaded' Western side :P
I'm an Australian author with three self-published books. Have just returned from a month driving around northern USA and Canada - fabulous trip, especially Yellowstone National Park (where I saw bears!) and The Rockies.
I live in Queensland where the weather is beautiful one day and perfect the next (nearly always) and enjoy playing tennis, swimming and walking our local beaches, river and lake. Needless to say, I'm an avid reader.
I also have a website where I interview other authors each week. If you are interested in a guest author spot you can contact me through the website at www.ritaleechapman.com
Rita,I'm an Australian writer too and live in Queensland, Brisbane. Maybe we should get together sometime. I'm not a self published writer. I have written quite a few books, and have contributed to various anthologies and have written academic nonfiction as well.

Great, Rita! You could make an announcement in our Announcements folder, if you'd like?

And yes we do.
Hi Mehreen - always nice to connect with a fellow Queenslander! Having checked out your author page I would say modesty is one of your character traits! A list of achievements to be proud of! What are you working on at the moment?
Hi Rita and welcome! Thanks for hosting me at your site and I'm glad to host you here-:)
Sounds like you've just had an unforgettable trip. We have some travellers here and share regularly tips and experiences.
I don't know whether it's still true, but when in Australia I remember being told that every employee once in 7 years or so can take a vacation of 4 or 6 months to travel far, since the rest of the world is kinda on the outskirts from there-:) I love the idea.
Ah, and of course it's about writing, books and stuff here-:)
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!
Bibi wrote: "I may decide to run for political office (legislative) should Nigeria's economic and political climate remain unchanged...."Hi Bibi and welcome!
Excellent idea - sometimes one needs to take initiative in his/her hands to bring about the coveted change!
Then we can switch and be your political advisors, if you allow us -:)
Sure, I hope you'll find some good ideas to form an excellent political platform.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!
