John Sennett | 2 comments Greetings from Kyiv amidst a very loud week for us here. I am a US citizen living here since 2020 and yes, we stayed when the enemy entered. Live here with my wife (Natasha) and our imported American dog (Philly Cheesesteak). Natasha and I have an ebook coming out through a UK Publisher in the next month or so called "Accidental Ukrainians" which is the first in a four book series based on each year of war. Not sure how often I will be able to check in as very involved with helping the military and working full-time.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi John & welcome!

Appreciate your help to Ukrainian people and cause and glad you've joined us here! As I regularly visit Kyiv twice a year and I offer all members a beer 🍺 , maybe we could have one some time.
Stay safe meanwhile as orcs’ attacks on Kyiv intensified lately. Good luck with the debut.
Hope you’ll enjoy and contribute to the discussions

Bill Pye | 10 comments Hi
Read alot sort of semi retired nurse full time caregiver for my wife.
She had a stroke fpour years ago. Had to fight her to get in the ambulance. Two years later when she broke her hip and lay in the driveway for two hours. I had worked the night before. I made her breakfast went to bed. Couple of hours later got up.to walk the dog. Found her on the ground. She did not fight about this ambulance

Bill Pye | 10 comments Has anyone else read Hemmingways For Whom.the Bell tolls.
I always wanted to fight in the second Spanish Civil.War. Die young.
Civil.war never happened. Most males in my family died before forty. Due to alcohol and natural impulsiveness. Tell my wife all the time the only reason i am alive is her.
Grew,up with a dad like the father in Faulkners story about barn burning.
Never cared about money or noteriety.Wake up every morning surprised and happy i am still alive
I have had over thirty years i never thought i would have. Lot of reading and thinking.

Federico Navarrete (fanmixco) | 1 comments My name is Federico Navarrete. I have a strong interest in economics and politics and have spent over a decade working in the tech sector. A turning point in my journey came after moving to Spain, where I joined a club focused on macroeconomics, politics, and philosophy.

In recent years, I’ve also become an independent publisher. My current project, Timeless Stories of El Salvador, brings Salvadoran folklore to international audiences through modern storytelling that connects the past with contemporary themes like migration and identity.

message 1789: by Oreneile Noa (new)

Oreneile Noa Noa Mapena | 2 comments Hey everyone 👋🏾

I’m Oreneile Mapena, a writer from South Africa who believes in telling the truth that hurts but heals. I write about the kind of love that teaches, breaks, and puts you back together, through healing, growth, and emotional honesty. My book The Soul You Forgot came straight from the fire. It’s about choosing yourself after love lets you down, and remembering the version of you that existed before the heartbreak, the attachment, the silence.

I’m not here to sound like a “published author.” I’m just someone who felt too much and decided to write it down so I could finally breathe again. If you’ve ever loved deeply, lost yourself in the process, or had to rebuild from the ground up… we probably speak the same language.

Looking forward to connecting, sharing stories, and building something real here.
Much love

message 1790: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Oreneile and welcome!

Hope you are breathing well after spilling it all out 😎

It’s been a while since I’d been to Copenhagen, but I hope that unlike other places all is much better there than in Danish post apocalyptic series The Rain that I’ve been watching recently 😎
With the scope of interests that you describe you should fit right in here.
Hope you’ll enjoy and contribute to the discussions
