Paul F. Graeme--Let me add that I am 67 years old and I did not grow up with computers in the 1950s and 1960s. I live alone and I have no children or grandchildren to help me learn computer mechanics/computer gymnastics/computer machining. I have been trying since last August to get my online (due to Covid-19) tutoring job going, without success, due to my inability to find every icon, every sub-sub-menu, every link that I have to navigate past in order to access the elementary school classrooms where I am supposed to be tutoring. I think you tried to set up a thread for me a couple of weeks ago, but it seemed that this had a lot more to do with critiquing Readers' Favorite Reviews than it did with promoting my novels. I realize there is an "Introduce Yourself" platform here, but that seems more geared toward first-time, one-time introduction of self, rather than ongoing promotions of an author's novels. Please help me understand where I am missing the mark here. Thank you.

Paul F. Thanks, Graeme. I have a much better idea now where to go to promote my books and how to get there. I don't want to misplace my book promos, because (1) I don't want other authors (i.e. competitors) to get the same idea, and (2) misplaced promos don't do me any good, because readers in non-promo threads probably would just skip over my promo comments. I appreciate your help.

T.C. Weber (tcweber) | 4 comments Hi everyone! Thanks for the invitation to join!

I'm a published author with a near-future cyberpunk trilogy and some short stories out, and other works in various stages of publication or completion.

I started out as an undergraduate writing screenplays and learning and practicing filmmaking (something I haven't done for quite a while now). My first published novel was a near-future cyberpunk thriller titled Sleep State Interrupt (See Sharp Press). It was a finalist for the 2017 Compton Crook award for best first science fiction, fantasy, or horror novel. The first sequel, The Wrath of Leviathan, was published in 2018, and the final book, Zero-Day Rising, came out Oct. 1, 2020. I have other books on the way as well. I am a member of Poets & Writers and the Maryland Writers Association, and help run writing workshops and critique groups.

By day, I work as a climate adaptation analyst, and have had a number of scientific papers and book chapters published. I live in Annapolis, Maryland. I enjoy traveling and have visited all seven continents. For book samples, short stories, and more, visit https://www.tcweber.com/.

Hope everyone here is doing well! These days, truth is stranger than fiction.

Cheers,

T.C. Weber

Susan Joyce | 27 comments Hello. Very happy to have found this group and look forward to some interesting discussions. I am a retired financial adviser trained on Wall Street and survived, among other things, the Tech Bubble and the attack on the Towers in 2001, and the Global Financial Collapse in 2008, then retired and wrote a non-fiction book about wealth management just for women, and a not-entirely-fictional novel about Wall Street during the days leading up to the big crash of 2008. I am up for anything anyone cares to talk about from stocks and bonds to economic trends, including gender biases among the financial world, and particularly about the impact the crash of 2008 continues to have on our society today.

ABOUT ME
Without "Islamic Science" I would not be a Magistra.

I am not a theologian and Islamic theology is an absurdity to me.

I am a religion scientist, specialized in anthropology and psychology of religion.

I am a doctora of public law (publizistik) and communication science, expert in cultural semiotics and media anthropology - endophysics.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Alienne & welcome,

Your background and specialization should be very relevant to some of our most popular discussions, one of them being https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... . Placing it here, in case you'd want to weigh in. Semiotics and endophysics sound super exciting too, although I had to use google to help me understand what they exactly encompass.
On a lighter note, I loved the Town Musicians of Bremen at the time :)
Hope you'll enjoy and elect to contribute to the ongoing friendly (mostly) debates

Mark Lin (goodreadscommark_reads) Hi all! Mark here. Nice to meet everyone. I guess my goals are to get rich and wealthy. To learn more about you and the interesting things that are there in the world. I also want to know more about music, literature, history, and other things in the world that make it so dang magical. I just want to dance with the faeries and escape reality with the vampires and werewolves. The zombies were quite fun last night and they continue to be.

Enough kidding around. Okay, I am Mark Lin. I am a reader since I can remember. My first time was with a book. In hand. Haha. Not much more I can really say about that. I love books and to read. I love Latin as well. I really enjoy reading other languages and having a good time with everyone. It is a gun.

Intellectual is a good time. I enjoy intellectual arguments and debates. I am also owed quite a bit due to the nature of things. It is not easy to be born in December as my friend Malcolm Gladwell will attest. There are a lot of things at play here and people never want to screw things up.

Anyway, I am very happy to be invited to this group. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve you all and I will continue to do so as long as you need me. You know where to find me. :)

Terese | 16 comments Hello, I was invited to the group and am curiously peering around at various topics. Seems like a very interesting group. I am a theologian, by degree, but not by trade. I am a continuous student of philosophy.

I read a bit of everything and have a casual interest in far too many things, at times it drives me to distraction, so perhaps this group - which seems quite eclectic is a perfect fit.
