Hi Jeffrey & welcome!
To enter a bar first and see what's going on is not a bad idea :)
Always glad to see our reading, writing and drinking company growing.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute

I see you mention mostly non-fiction on your profile. For me too non-fiction is mostly the source of info, like journals and newspapers, and rarely a read for "enjoyment", but it's not an ordeal either, so I'm confident you'll master it and maybe pick some fiction titles too to see whether you enjoy reading them more.
Anyhow, we don't have a minimum reading requirement :), so I hope you'll enjoy and contribute

Due to quarantine, I will be telling inside jokes only, now.
Hi, my name is Sophia.I am an avid reader and a writer of adult books aimed at a niche market that won't be to many peoples taste.
I have worked as an events manager and had my own company. If that is too boring I also, for a time, worked as a professional Dominatrix.
I now work part time as a personal fitness trainer.
Hi Sophia & welcome! You sound anything but boring :) Important to keep ourselves fit in times of restricted activity, if you had an advice or two for us. (A bartender and chief sanitary inspector’s vacancies are already taken).
Anyhow, hope you’ll enjoy & contribute
Hi Hisham, Joseph, and Sophia - welcome to all the new members. Looking forward to seeing you on the threads.
Nik wrote: "We would like to know you a little better. Please, introduce yourself and share what made you join. No formal CV/resume or last tax return are required -:)"Hi Nik. Born and bread South African of British decent. Own a small construction company. (not a good time to be in construction in SA at the moment) Writing is my escape button. Takes away the stress of the the day, moves me into my own crazy world. Interacting with people on different topics stimulates my mind, especially on an international scale. Enjoy conspiracy theories, try to debunk or prove them. My other passion is mountain biking, getting out into the bush close up to nature. Looking forward to some interaction.
Hi Stephen & welcome! With the ongoing crisis many industries feel a little dizzy. Hope construction as well as other spheres get back on track soonest. How things are with the virus in S. Africa, by the way?
Conspiracies is certainly a fascinating subject. Not saying we explore this angle regularly, but we attempt to discuss things a little beyond their obvious manifestations.
Come join discussions and feel free to offer your input.
Hope you’ll enjoy & contribute

Nik,
I look forward to exchanging thoughts with the group.
Hi, everyone! Thx for the invite, Nik. Glad to be here- this looks like an amazingly helpful and realistic group. What an awesome idea! I am a writer with a lifetime's worth of many WIPs that I plan to write...and more every year, like it or not. :) Also co-authoring multiple books with my sister. Several chapters into actually writing my first book, the rest are in outlining stage, but loving learning about all the ins and outs of writing, publishing, marketing, etc. Glad to be here and hello all!

In biz they often say that making the first million is the hardest. Maybe the same works for writing the first book :) Hope you'll accomplish your first project soonest and will enjoy both the process and the result and then bring to fruition as many ideas as you think worth a book.
In the meantime, hope you'll enjoy & contribute while being with us here

Hi. I'm Charissa. Most of the time, I'm creating, gardening, or posting reviews on my blog here: lilmizflashythang.wordpress.com.
Hi Charissa & welcome!A neat blog you got, well done. Hope among other occupations you'll allocate time to be with us and choose to contribute on different discussions. And, of course, I wish you an enjoyable experience :)

Welcome to the group. I just joined last week as well.
Hello all, Thanks for the invite! I’ll lurk, while looking at your previous discussions before I add my thoughts.
Best,

Hi NOfP (if that's how we should call you) & welcome!Judging by your interests, which include politics, history, law, economics & engineering while being also a prolific reader, I'm sure you might have a lot to say on multiple threads.
Looking forward to your input.

My thanks to goodreads member Nik for inviting me to this group! Already I am both fascinated/intrigued and blown away by the information and resources that can be found here! But of course, who am I? My name is Inis L. Fal, and I am a self-published author of the Heirs Through Time Saga (a historical fiction, action-adventure, archaeological, Christian book series). I started writing my first book, When the Lion Roars, when I was 17 as a personal challenge to myself to just "see if I could do it", and I have been striving to forge ahead and perfect my craft ever since! Currently I am working on a second edition of my first book, as well as preparing to start book #3...Assassin in the Queen's Court! I look forward to "meeting" the members of this group and learning a great deal from them! Regards!

Challenging yourself is a good way to personal growth. Well done on accomplishments and good luck with further projects.
It probably wasn't tested clinically, but I suspect that the writing virus can be contagious on par with corona, especially when outside activities are limited :) We might witness a publishing boom in the aftermath.
Hope you'll find the group's resources and discussions useful and will otherwise enjoy and contribute
Welcome, Inis,I didn't decide to just 'see if I could do it' until I was 35, so you've got a huge jump on me. Probably a bunch of other self-published authors, too, (except for maybe Christopher Paolini).
Hi all! Finally getting around to updating my Goodreads page with the upcoming release of my debut novel, Supra/normal, and thought I'd check this group out.
thanks for the invitation! i'm Castles, and i'll read some more in the group's thread to learn how i got here (: have a good week
Hi Castles & welcome! How you got here is secondary, what’s important- you did :)
Hope you’ll enjoy and contribute

I love to read and talk about books. I've been driven in this dystopian time to push a side project forward and built an online community for virtual live author appearances. bookyaya.com. Thrilled to share here.
Hi Dan & welcome!Congrats on realizing what sounds like a promising project. Who knows maybe a decade later or earlier it’ll dethrone goodreads :)
Meanwhile feel free to participate in the discussions or start your own. Hope you’ll enjoy and contribute
Hi Jack & welcome!Glad to e-meet a fellow author writing a variety of genres and having some of them in common.
Hope you'll enjoy and share your thoughts and experience on writing, reading, marketing and beyond
