Jess (xjessicax) | 14 comments Hi, everyone! My name is Jessica.
I've been in this group for a couple of months but only jump in every once in awhile. I study Russian and Chinese and enjoy politics, social studies, and learning about economic conditions and systems.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Jessica and welcome!

Hope you enjoy your 'jump- ins' so far and will come visit more frequently -:) Not sure discussions here are recognized and give any academic credits, but hopefully we do offer something interesting every once in a while on politics, social, global and economic issues.

It's unethical for students to hire a person/service to write their essays for them.

Hi Jessica,

So you enjoy “politics, social studies, … economic conditions”; I have the book for you. I just completed my fourth edition and please find the Introduction Chapter at the following link:

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Of course, you can join silently and lurk in the corner below the radar, but why not make a grand entrance with a loud announcement? All you risk - is getting a few greetings in response -:)

G____ Goshin (mindflow) | 1 comments Hello everyone, my name is Galon and I'm a Video marketing Strategist from the west coast of the US. I found this group by typing in "investing" in the search groups box. I saw some great content in here and would love to share any information or books that would help everyone improve their life or finances. I'm a firm believer of life long learning and this group contributes to that fact.

Talk soon!

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Galon & welcome!

Glad to hear we are still discoverable somehow among the plenitude of groups here on GR. Hope you can find useful stuff in the group, enjoy and contribute from your own, as an improvement of life and finances is always in demand

message 1015: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Ireland (dawnireland) | 5 comments Hello Nik; Group...

First, thanks for the invite, Nik. Glad to be here.

In a nutshell, I've been writing for a long time, but honing my creative writing skills over the last decade.

My background consists of 34 years as a technical writer and editor. Mostly corporate docs: manuals, procedures, white papers, user guides et al.

I've spent a long time in the oil and gas industry, computer hardware and software -- just look at my website under my company tab (Artistic Origins) www.dawngreenfieldireland.com.

Technical writing helped develop my creative writing. I can outline like crazy, and I'm organized and disciplined -- all things a creative writer needs to develop a story.

Many of my books and screenplays have won awards. However, I'm still in the trenches -- I have not been "discovered" yet.

Nik, my father's side of the family came from Moldava.

Dawn

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Dawn and welcome here!

You have an impressive technical and creative writing career and I hope your 'discovery' is nigh. You may have a lot in common with Alex - my fellow co-moderator, who like you, branches out into fiction from technical writing.
Glad to hear that our roots partially come from the same neighborhood. There was a period of time when I was traveling to Moldova fairly regularly and I do have good memories of the local chocolate, wine and cognac (brandy) -:)

Hope you'll enjoy and contribute to the discussions

Dawn Ireland (dawnireland) | 5 comments Glad to be here, although I have to tell you... I spend most of my time writing, editing (other peoples books), and my own publishing endeavors.

I'll check in periodically.

E. Billups (edenisebillups) | 4 comments Hello, I’m Denise. Nik sent me an invite and I accepted enthusiastically. I live in New York City, USA, started my career in Finance on Wall Street for many years, and now, find myself pursuing my passion, writing. I’ve been an avid reader since childhood, a writer since birth, a lover of life, people, travel and living a life of health and fitness. I’ve traveled a bit, generally pursuing another marathon medal in various international races and here in the states.

I’ve self-published three novels (Supernatural Thriller/Suspense) and a few short stories. I’m working on publishing more. I write because I love it. If I’m successful, brava!! I’ll continue writing until my star passes. :-) 

I joined because the group title World, Writing and Wealth seem right up my alley. I’m happy to be here to learn and share.

message 1025: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Denise, glad to welcome you here!

Indeed your finance, writing and travel and group's orientation sound like a perfect match -:)

Good luck in work, running, writing and all.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute

message 1026: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan Hi Denise, welcome to the group.

Marathon running seems a good cultural fit to writing novels.

message 1027: by E. (new)

E. Billups (edenisebillups) | 4 comments Nik, thank you! I'm looking forward to being a member of the group. Hopefully contributing enough.
Have a great Thursday!

Denise

message 1028: by E. (new)

E. Billups (edenisebillups) | 4 comments Hi Graeme

I hate to be cliche, but as I see it, a marathon is a metaphor for life. It's given me the stamina for many endeavors, and I've incorporated it into one novel so far. Let's see where it takes me down the road.

Traveling and running makes for interesting people I would never have met. Yes, it's a great fit culturally for writing.

Have a wonderful Thursday, Graeme!

Denise

message 1029: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan Thanks Denise.

Goran Zivanovic Hi WWW discussion group. I'm Goran from the Gold Coast in Australia. My interests and profession is in filmmaking, photography and writing. I co-founded a small production house, Gothic Zen Studios, which encourages personal expression through audiovisual media and literature.

Lately, I'm reinventing myself as an author after my 1st book, Crucified, hit the shelves in 2005. I like to think my writing style is more sophisticated now and I hope my latest novel reveals much more depth than the previous ones.

Cheers.

Hola Athzin & welcome!
As we have an economic section here, we'd love to hear your opinions on the issues at hand, however if you choose German to voice them the audience might be a little narrower -:)
Loved Coyoacan borough. Where in South-east: Yucatan, Quintana?
Hope you'll enjoy, perfect your English and contribute

Danielle Patarazzi (daniellepatarazzi) Hello, everyone! I just published my first novel, All Because of Hannah, and I joined this group to learn more about publishing as I still have a long way to go! I'm thinking about running my first Goodreads giveaway, but noticed it now costs about $150 to do it. Older posts on here say it's free, so they must have recently changed this.

message 1043: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Hi Danielle & welcome,

Congrats on the publication and best of luck with Hannah!
You'll find lots of resources about g/a, their worthiness and other aspects of book promotion and marketing.

Hope you'll enjoy & contribute

message 1044: by Rita (new)

Rita Chapman | 156 comments Welcome Athzin and Danielle. Yes, Danielle, you do have to pay to run a giveaway now and you probably won't recoup the outlay.

message 1045: by Danielle (new)

Danielle Patarazzi (daniellepatarazzi) Good to know. Thanks. I’m going to do the giveaway anyway (it’s $119) to at least increase my audience.

Nookmark is gone - the profile is null and void. Perhaps GR admins took action.
