LOL, I am seriously, such a complete geek. I'm a bookkeeper by trade, so in addition to tracking them here, I have a spreadsheet. I just started tracking my pages this year. Tracking my books read goes back to 2007. (10 Years! It's Crazy!)
I didn't used to read nearly so many books at the same time (maybe 3?) and never had any particular goals other than to enjoy reading. Maybe 3 years ago, I started aiming for a book a day on average. However, that put a weird kind of pressure on me, because some books are better reading slowly, and sometimes you aren't in the mood for a book, or it makes you strangely anxious and stressed (I take my books way too seriously!).
So when I started giving myself daily goal of 350 pages rather than one book, I found I actually read so much more. Because I can read as little or as much of a book as I want, and then move on to something else.
As a completely unexpected benefit, I always had a problem with recall. Because I was reading 300+ books a year, if you asked me 6 months later about a particular book, I could potentially remember very little of it, having spent only one day on it. But I've found that I remember much about books if rather than reading 10 different books on 10 consecutive days, I take 10 days to read those 10 books.
So, I highly suggest the tracking pages method, especially for those who have gotten out of the habit of reading or feel like they don't have much time. I suggested to a friend that they start with a daily goal of something that is easily doable for their schedule, say 10 pages, and every week increase it by 5 to 10 pages until you are where you want to be.
This response has turned out crazy long, because you pretty much made my day by asking about the place where my obsessions of reading and organization meet!
I'll end with some random statistics, ;)
Pages read in 2017: 90579
Avg per day: 470 (this increases to 523 if you don't count Saturdays, my non-reading day)
Most read in a day: 1463
TL;DR: Spreadsheets, numbers, blah blah blah, reading is great!

Oh wow! I love your organization skills with it, I don't read as many books at the same time, the most I'll do is read 3 books. But I love how your setup is!! It's making me really want to find a different way to set up my daily reading goals. :)

Those statistics are SO awesome! I love statistics and reading and organization so having all three in one spot is so cool to me. So do you never read on Saturdays? Is that a decision or are you just too busy to read?
I am also trying to think of a way to write in weekly wrapup stats but I'm trying to decide what to include.

@Jacquelyn - Re: Saturdays. I don't necessarily plan not to read on that day. But it's usually cleaning, groceries, laundry, and family day. and it's the one day that no one has to work, sleep at strange times (my husband), and we actually get to see each other. Plus, I have a 6-year old daughter, and the poor girl is fairly extroverted. Unfortunately for her, she is an only child and being raised by two introverts. So we try our best to spend as much time with her on Saturday's as possible.

I have out of town company who came Friday and will be here through next weekend, so my reading is going to be small for me, and I might not make it around every day.
I'm not going to make any goals today as I lumped last Friday through today on my page count tracker, but hopefully I'll get to make a small one tomorrow.
Good Luck to you all!
