Nanci | 1864 comments Thanks for helping us with those bingo cards, Raine!

Unfortunately Cleat Chaser won't work for the humor card since it was read before April 13. Still, your posts helped us complete the 4th vertical row, so good work!

Team, if you can look through any books that were read on or after April 13 to see if they work for any bingo cards that would be great. Look at post 356 to see what we still need.

message 354: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) It's been 3 weeks and I am done with my one book! Yay! Sorry, I couldn't contribute more, but at least I can take the Sibling from Bingo.

message 355: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments I love One Hundred Years of Solitude, Kierra! Such a great writer! I'll add it as a Reverse too, since I've read it.

Thanks for taking the Sibling card!

Awesome! I added it to our bingo board. If someone can fulfill the Grilled Cheese card, we'll get the 4th horizontal row complete for some extra points!

Nanci | 1864 comments Wow! There has been a lot of reading going on in the last few days!! I've updated the spreadsheet and we're current to here.

The card we need the most, is a 7card with a green cover. Is there one of you that could do that? It's back in hand 8, so we really need it to be done, or none of the hands after that will work.

message 359: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra,
Konstantina hasn't posted any to the spreadsheet yet, so I looked at his/her UNO shelf and posted the two books that have been read in April. Konstantina, if you see this message, please go to the personal spreadsheet and fill in as many card qualifications as fit the books.

message 360: by Greta (new)

Greta I thought I was doing that green cover card? Or was that a different one? I'm doing well with it :-)

Nanci | 1864 comments Greta wrote: "I thought I was doing that green cover card? Or was that a different one? I'm doing well with it :-)"

You're fine. Your book is for Hand three for the Green 3 card, so hopefully there will be something in that book that works for 3.

The 7Green is for Hand Eight.

message 362: by Greta (new)

Greta It works for either task :-)

I think Harry Potter books work for just about everything!

message 363: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Oh, good, Greta.

Team, I just looked at the other teams' standings. We have made giant strides and surged ahead of some of the other teams now! :))
Three of the teams are completely done with all their hands, but we're not the only team working hard in the final stretch here. Saturday, the 30th, is rapidly approaching! Continue reading and recording on the spreadsheet while thinking about getting those last bingo cards finished. We're doing fantastic!

Sweet! Just update when you're finished and I'll add it. That will make row 2 vertical completed.

message 368: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Nanci, maybe she is not comfortable with the format of spreadsheets. Who knows.

Since you've been controlling this month, question: what is the category we're struggling with now? I can take humor or grilled cheese from bingo. Besides, so we still need yellow or red cover?

message 369: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra, I went ahead and added Konstantina's books to the team spreadsheet. They worked for cards 3 and 4.

We only have Humor, Hairball, Garlic, Walkiing and Grilled Cheese left for Bingo. If you can take one of those that would be great.

For color books we need:
7 green-hand eight
7 yellow-hand fourteen
9 red-hand fourteen
2 red-hand fourteen

message 370: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Arlene wrote: "Starting King (King, #1) by T.M. Frazier, for the Frog/Green cover book in Bingo"

Arlene, I'm checking to see if it's green enough for the card we need for hand eight. If so, can you find something in it that works for card 7?

message 371: by Nanci (last edited Apr 25, 2016 01:38PM) (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Arlene, here's what Karen posted in response to my question about your book:

using http://labs.tineye.com/color/ it is only about 36% green

Sadly, it won't qualify.

It was published. 12/1/09

:)

message 373: by Arlene (new)

Arlene | 35 comments Nanci, nothing in King that works for card 7.

Vampire University can be used for Garlic in Bingo

I'm starting Fashionably Dead (Hot Damned, #1) by Robyn Peterman which can be used for Garlic and/or Humor

message 374: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Letitia,
Put in Beautiful Creatures for "Walking".
Arlene,
Put in Vampire University for "Garlic". When you let me know you've finished Fashionably Dead, I'll use it for "Humor".
Those were both great additions, ladies and gave us a few more completed rows for lots of points. It's all updated on the spreadsheet.
Kierra, when you finish your book it will be used for "Grilled Cheese".

Nanci | 1864 comments We are getting down to the wire, team, with just 4 short days left!

Greta, how are you doing on your green book? Do you think you'll get it finished?

Anyone able to read a 7green book ? If not claimed by tomorrow then I'm going to do my best to read one that will qualify. We need that book, or we forfeit a lot of others we've read. Ugh!

Also, we need a Reverse for hand 13, so please look and see if we have any we can use.
Thanks!

I finished and just entered it!

It works for Frog month too.

message 377: by Greta (new)

Greta I don't think I will be able to get in the 7Green. If someone has a 3 Green we can switch my book. Whatever works.

I'm currently reading The Stand by Stephen King by Stephen King. Anyone read it already for the reverse?

message 378: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) My Hundred years of solitude book has a green cover.

message 379: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Hooray, Greta!! You have saved us! I entered your book and also crossed off "frog" for bingo. The only bingo no one has claimed yet is "hairball".

I've read it, Greta. I've added it to the personal spreadsheet. Just update it when you're done and we've got our Reverse for Hand 13.

Thanks, but I'd like to leave it there if possible.
I've asked the mods to look at this book The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan . The link they use came up with 48.2%, so hoping they'll accept it. If they do, I'll put down my other books and read it.

Greta Go Nanci! You got this :D

message 385: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments I agree Kierra and Greta. I haven't heard yet, but have started to make a dent in it and hoping I'll get a "yes"!

message 386: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments I got a "yes" for The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan being green, so I'll keep reading it for the 7green cover book.

The only cover color books left are those in the last hand:
7yellow
9red
2red

We got this team!

message 387: by Raine (new)

Raine (raine_renner) | 23 comments So what are we still missing for the bingo?

message 388: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments "Hairball" is all that's left!
Arlene is reading something for "humor" and Kierra is reading something for "grilled cheese".

Can you fulfill "hairball"-cat on cover or stylist/hairdresser in book?

Would this work for red? I can read this book next and quickly if needed if it will work. It would work for 2 or 9 too so as long as the cover works, it should work for that hand.

message 393: by Greta (new)

I already used it in Hand 12 as part of a Draw 2.
