Lilith do you want to add your three then maybe we can add one from each list and then so on so we get through the nine books in the Spring?

Or Maybe we can take one or two from our lists and start there.

Hey I was thinking maybe we could add a few books to the schedule...How about the next one will be "After I Do" by Taylor Jenkins Reid? Then after that what about "If I was Your Girl"?
Hey guys!
I just skimmed through the bookshelf. I was wondering if everyone would want to read "Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature, by Matt Ridley" right after "If I was you Girl." We've had it on the bookshelf for a while and I thought it would be a good change of pace to add a non-fiction book.

Cee Cee, would you want to add "Ruby on the Outside," by Nora Raleigh Baskin after "Red Queen"? It's on your to-read list. It looks really good and I noticed my library has it. Deb, does that book interest you?
I'm all for that. I was actually thinking about that one too...It's been on the shelf for a while, so I thought it was time we read it soon. And one of the libraries here has it!

- to be honest with you I don't know what half the things on my to-read shelf are doing there...they're like impulse items in the candy aisle...I need to do some decluttering there and in real life.
I just reserved "The Red Queen" and "Ruby on the Outside" from the library, even though we're not starting those books for a while...The library is unbelievably slow to get these books in!!
Hey everyone!
Would you guys be interested in reading "Holding up the Universe" by Jennifer Niven? If so, maybe we could add it right after "This is where it Ends." Any other suggestions for the schedule? All suggestions are welcome! Variety keeps it interesting! ;)

I'd like to add The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, but we may need to wait awhile until it is easier to get from the library...

I keep seeing that book at bookstores, but never knew what it was about. Looks like a good book.
Yes, ATBP is being made into a movie. It should open next year. I can't wait. I LOVED that book. I cried starting at around page 200 until the end. One of the best books I read last year.

Cee Cee, I just checked if any of the libraries here have The Underground Railroad and a lot of them have it! I'm up for adding it to the schedule! It looks good! And got a pretty high rating!

I checked for the availability of this book and the library doesn't have it. Bookoutlet doesn't have it either. Amazon has it but it's $30. If you guys want to add it to the schedule, I don't mind. I'll read something else in the meantime. I have a lot of books to read!

It's like 18 dollars on Amazon here. Lets add it to the bookshelf and revisit it later this year and see if it is available. Also, I am interested about the topic. Maybe there is another book we can read on the topic in the meantime.

Oh man I just finished History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera. Seriously such a good book. Looking back it would have been a good book club book. Actually, either one of his books are good. It had a bit of All The Bright Places, Eleanor and Park meets I'll Give You The Sun! One of the best books I have read all year.
Actually he reminds me of Ned Vizzini, He has that quirkiness that comes through.

I noticed a lot of us want to read Wonder. I have added it to our bookshelf. I guess there is a move coming out. I just checked and it is scheduled for November. This will be a good book to read during the Fall.

Cee Cee wrote: "Wonder sounds great. And we should definitely keep Born Both in the queue until it is easier to get at the library. Maybe same with Underground Railroad? There's still a long waiting list at my lib..."
Is everybody okay with postponing Underground Railroad and adding Wonder in its place? It seems like a wonderful book!

I was wondering if maybe in the Fall we could have themes? So example we say September is Contemporary YA. We then would choose two books to read in that theme for the month. Examples of themes would be Read The Classics, Female Authors, and Duologies. I think it might make the club a bit more cohesive. I sort of feel the last two books have had mixed reactions. This would also encourage more discussions. Any other ideas are appreciated. I am even okay rearranging the current books if that makes it more enjoyable for everyone.
:)
:)
Oh, that's an excellent idea! Personally, I don't see the need to re-arrange the current books, but I'm flexible!
Anybody interested in reading some Liane Moriarty after this last batch of books? I have a few in mind:
What Alice Forgot
Truly Madly Guilty
Big Little Lies (I'm sort of curious how the book differs from the show)

I went through my to-read list - (which I almost never refer to. In fact it's sort of like the piles that keep trying to take over my house...)
I deleted a few titles and chose three to suggest. Maybe if I suggest 3 per quarter I can whittle the list down to a more reasonable length.
Here are my suggestions for spring:
