What was good, and what was bad about this book?

My friend told me today that she doesn't like this book. Could someone give and opinion on why someone would dislike this book please?

its a very good but can get complicted now and again....i would suggest it to anyone to read but it is a little strange cos of the mind reading thing...specially if you've watched the film first, its no way as good as the book

the good: I originally thought the concept was cool. I actually looked forward to reading the whole series.

the bad: I found that it dragged on and I basically kept reading it expecting and waiting for it to get better. I didn't feel like it did nor did the rest of the series get much better either. I didn't connect with any of the characters at all. I honestly didn't care if they lived or died. maybe the movies will be better.

What I liked about this book: The characters had very varying personalities; Newt; Minho; Brenda; The concept of the book was very interesting.

What I didn't like about this book: It dragged on and on and on; I kept waiting for it to get better and it didn't; I didn't particularly love any of the characters, minus the ones I mentioned; Teresa.

Do you think that once it started getting to the good parts it seemed to not drag as much?

Mia, yes, there were parts I found interesting and not dragging as much, so it is not like I absolutely hated this series. I just found it to not be as exciting as some of the other series I have read. and I can say that about other series, too. some I have just found hold my interest better or are more interesting than others.

Well, it's a really good story with action and some intense stuff but it was slow in the beginning. It's good and I liked it.
