seeing S M and C have been guessed are there any F's?

Chloe, there is 1 F.

message 1903: by Kathy (last edited Oct 19, 2016 08:13AM) (new)

Kathy I'm confused. If all the first letters of a book title, author's first and last name have been guessed, one can choose a random letter? I ask because of Chloe's guess above.

message 1904: by Lanelle, Production Chief (last edited Oct 19, 2016 09:15AM) (new)

Lanelle | 20968 comments Mod
Well, I messed up again. Maybe I shouldn't do Hangman half asleep :)

I'll leave the F since everyone already knows about it. Thanks, Kathy.

Marla | 1042 comments How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper

Are there any N's?

message 1913: by Denise S (new)

Denise S | 799 comments Hi Marla

just a tip - N is not the first letter of the title so can't be used. Only the first letter of the title or initials of the author can be guessed.

I think your choices are H or M for the title and author's initials, if they haven't already been guessed.

message 1914: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20968 comments Mod
Denise is right, Marla. You can use the first letter of the title of your book (excluding a, and, the), or the first or last name of the author.

What do you think Henry Miller meant by 'ammunition'? Anyone?

message 1926: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (tellingmelies) | 540 comments Yay I finally got one!

And I believe Henry Miller was saying something along the lines of how books take us to places and let us experience other worlds. It's ammunition for the brain. But if the book is just lying there, everything about it is wasted...lost.

message 1927: by Denise S (new)

Denise S | 799 comments yay Jenn !! I was just coming on to type the answer before Ms. Hangman hung the man glad you saved the poor guy.

message 1929: by Kathy (last edited Oct 20, 2016 03:44PM) (new)

Kathy A little stream of consciousness reply to your question, Lanelle.

Ammunition is something that can be launched or thrown or propelled to attack or defend. Information, then, can be ammunition because it can be used to attack or defend an idea, a claim, an argument, a point of view. Since Miller's books were so controversial and even led to overturning US censorship laws, it makes sense that he might see books as a means of attack or defense.

Possibly incoherent ramblings brought to you by . . .

I like the idea of information being ammunition. Books certainly allow us to learn from the mistakes of others. I read for entertainment, but if I can gain knowledge and wisdom in the process, that's even better!

Oh well, it's sort of like spilling something on the tablecloth at a big dinner. No one wants to be the first to make a mess, but it breaks the ice and everyone can relax after the first spot is made. Now no one has to think "I don't want to be the first body part with a bad guess".
And I know how you you like to do that little happy dance......You're welcome!
