Right now, I'm reading "Big Magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert. I absolutely adore Liz Gilbert - she is unassuming with flashes of true insight and a great sense of humour! I must admit, though, that I was expecting a bit more from this book. It's good, but I have gotten more out of watching her interviews on the subject.
I'm looking forward to reading Big Magic too, Catherine; and I did hear that this is a short book, but I've enjoyed watching some of her interviews.
Playing Big (by Tara Mohr) is another recent book I read that I liked - if you haven't read it yet?

No, I haven't seen that book - thx, I'll have to check it out :)

Barbara wrote: "I just started The Field by Lynne McTaggart. Supposedly this book will scientifically support ideas that ancient myth and religions have always supported. I'll let you know after I get into it."
I just looked it up Barbara, and it sounds really interesting... I'm going to check it out!
Also, there was another book I had enjoyed called Code Name: God by Mani Bhaumik, which was part-biography and part-science - he was a billionaire scientist who invented laser technology for Lasik, but who came from poor beginnings. I enjoyed both the biography as well as his scientific spin on God.

If you like that, you might also enjoy, "The Tao of Physics: An Exploration of the Parallels Between Modern Physics and Eastern Mysticism" by physicist Fritjof Capra.

LOL! I'm the same way Nikee :)
I've written a whole series of blog posts on Chakras from a slightly different angle - the 7 stages of consciousness - if you're interested... http://www.nestintheforest.com/7-chak...

Happy you're here Kris, and thanks for introducing yourself :) Anodea Judith's books are a great entry point into understanding Chakras, and if you want to get a bit of a deeper dimension, check out my Chakra series from the perspective of consciousness: http://www.nestintheforest.com/7-chak...

How do you like the Art of Asking, Amy?
And you're in for an interesting (to say the least) journey of mystery and mystics with AOY :)

Dewin wrote: "Oh wow, Barbara, my dad is reading that book right now. He said it's a tough one to get through. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!"
Dewin, if you liked the Book of Secrets, you might also like How to Know God - also by Deepak Chopra (but maybe give yourself some time between the two). And I'm reading Lynne McTaggart's the Bond now - and it does take some concentration, but it's an interesting book!

Thanks for caring about the community to point this out Jim!
Keysha, I've checked how other book clubs manage such instances, and deleted your entry. If you'd like to stay on in the group and participate in the conversations you're welcome to.

Sounds interesting Barbara! I remember long and fascinating conversations about Akashic records when I was a child, but I've been meaning to get back to reading up on them again. Let us know if you like the book!

I listened to the audio book of Big Magic in early February. It was very inspiring.

James wrote: "I'm currently reading Living Beautifully by Pema Chodron. I'm engaged in much reflection while reading it."
Pema always seems to speak from her heart, and from her own experience - makes us feel like we can relate, doesn't she?

Yes she does. I have her audio of How to Meditate which I am going to listen to in the near future.

Interesting book. I want to read Ricard's The Quantum and the Lotus.
