A younger girl named fern saved this sweet innocent piglet from being killed. She named him Wilbur and he lived off a farm with her uncle. Wilbur then befriended a spider and promised him that he wouldn't be dinner and then wrote inscriptions on the web above him. That lead to him being entered into the country fair but he never won any actual prizes. Though his friend charlotte died and Wilbur took care of her offspring and he had many friends after.
I believe that this is a great book for the age appropriate where they understand that he was going to be slaughtered. I believe that this would be a great age for 8 year old and up. Its a great book about friendship and the love in this book. This would be a great book to read a loud in a classroom or doing a book group.
