If you could go back and live in any point in time where would it be?

My choice would be to go back to the Little House In The Prairie days (Late 1800's to early 1900's).

Robin Good question. Wherever I went I would want modern medicine and indoor plumbing (since it's just a fantasy visit anyway). The early 1900s in either America or England would be my choice.

Good idea! If I went back in time I would have to have no memory of modern conveniences. I do like the thought of simpler times and living off the land.

Robin So do I. Whenever I'm in the country I am always amazed at how quiet it is and how many stars are in the sky. Actually, I also notice that when the power goes out. We live in a noisy world!

LOL Robin. We live in a rural area and we are just outside the city limits of a town of 1200 people. You reminded me of when our Chicago relatives stayed at our place and camped out in the back yard. They said they couldnt sleep because it was too quiet.

Robin I live in a very urban area south of San Francisco. The Superbowl will be here this weekend and it's even more crowded than ever. I sleep like a baby when I'm in the country. However, here at home, if the power goes out in the middle of the night the quiet wakes us up!

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments well, I am going to a Garden Party this Sunday (hopefully the weather will hold up) in celebration of Katharine Mansfield's short story. Set in the 1920s so we all have to dress up in Art Deco dress.

I love the outfits. I think that's my era, as I'm slim and it really suits me.

Busty 50's outfits look wrong on me.
And 60's miniskirts are too short.

I would recommend anyone to read a biography of Katharine Mansfield, she lead an interesting life as a writer.

Your party sounds like a lot of fun. Let us know how it turns out.

Robin That sounds like a lot fun, Selina! Wish we could post photos here so you could show us all the costumes!
