Any fans of the books here? I read them a while back and the show has renewed my interest. Magnus and Alec <3

This show is so fun. I kinda love it.
I know I'm really looking forward to some more Magnus and Alec!Ive read the main Mortal instrument series (when they first came out) but not the bane series yet :/ but I am keeping up with Shadowhunters! so far so good! :) I will say that i do find Clarys running in the show comical :p
Lol, I'll have to pay more attention to that. Clary felt a bit wooden at first but she's gotten better. I'm finally feeling her and Jace more - the actors together I mean.I still need to read the last Mortal Instruments book, and I've been considering the Bane book. Magnus is one of the best parts of the series. I'm finding Alec very sympathetic in the tv show too.
I loved the books & I'm really enjoying the show! I was so disappointed that they were not going to continue with the films but a show is great too! I really didn't mind the movie, I felt that Jamie Campbell Bower actually was just as Jace was described in the book, as far as general looks. What bothered me most about the movie was how totally different they made Valentine! Did anyone else feel that way?
It's been a while since I saw the movie and I don't remember Valentine in it. What didn't you like? The one in the tv show doesn't look how I pictured him at all though.I really didn't care for Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace. He's so scrawny-looking. The tv Jace is a little closer to what I pictured. However he doesn't have the flirty arrogance that defined his character in the books.
I think this format will work better than movies. It's a quicker fix for fans.
Hi everyone, What did you think of the direction the show took? I have mixed feelings about it. I think it doesn't really capture the feel of the books... It is enjoyable, though and I really like the finale. I think the casting is great, way better than the movie, especially for Magnus! He's brilliant!!
It felt more like the books to me than the movie did but I think that's mostly due to casting. It's been a while since I read the books too.
