My fave is The Mortal Instruments because I'm Team Clace, Team Malec, Team Sizzy, and Team Mat (Maia and Bat ). They all need to get married, like NOW!
My fave TMI is City of Heavenly Fire, my fave TID is Clockwork Prince, my fave TDA is Queen of Air and Darkness.
I love all of Cassandra Clare's books, but I think TMI is better than TID. While TID offers more on the relationship and personal angle (my opinion), TMI gives an over all more adventurous thing, with plot-twists and twisted and vicious and (likeable) villains. I struggled in reading both of the series' first books, but Clary and Tessa are both admirable, wonderful characters, so really.... There was no question of me not liking the books.
TID although I love both alot I loved the story line of The infernal devices it was constantly leaving me in suspense and being set in the year 1878 was amazing to see just how people go about there lives so long ago
The infernal devices has better world building and a better plot in my opinion. The characters were deeper and more developed than TMI, it just was more immersive to read. I loved how it wasn’t just other shadow hunters or downworlders they were fighting but actual robotic demon creatures. It added a good break from the main TMI series.

I enjoy The Infernal Devices much more than I did The Mortal Instruments. I felt more connected to the characters and the story drew me deeper in as the story progressed. :)
The Mortal instruments all the way!First I read TMI and then I read TID. I like TID, but I love TMI.
TMI. It’s the original and I just fell in love with the characters. TID was good but I just didn’t get the same feeling.
Before I start, I just have to say I loved both TMI and TID but TID just hit home for me. The characters, the writing, the settings, and the storyline. To me, it was just beautiful. I related to the characters a lot, like Tessa and her books, Jem and his condition, Will and his insecurities and Charlotte with her struggles. I mean, come on! There's no words to describe it. However, having said that TMI was a longer read with more excitement when we talk about the plot twists. I loved the characters as well but personally some characters lacked a dynamic character development and I would love to have seen more of them.
Personally, I truly enjoyed reading BOTH series but TID had me crying and laughing at the same time, while TMI had me squealing and biting my nails... (Obviously not for the entire time but for most of the exciting parts). All in all, I truly loved the story each character had in both books and as always, thank you Cassandra Clare! Also thank you for reading this if you did :)
I have to go with TMI. I started those first and sometimes the books that are based in the past aren't my favorite though I really did like TID
I think most people would say TID, though I honestly think it is about tie. I definitely was more emotionally attached to some of the characters in TID though. Both are incredible.
Favorite is the infernal devices. I loved it so much more and it's just a masterpiece.I love the characters so much more.
I love both, to be clear!!! But I think that Jace is the best character Cassandra Clare ever created. His evolution through the series make me choose TMI as my favourite.Among all the books? Hard to say. Looking back I see them as a total and prefer to think in specific chapters. His relation with Clary, his family, Marisse and Simon and of course with Valentine!

i love will and jem so much more than alec but jace. but it was a hard choice. TID made me cry much more than TMI
