I'm posting the questions next week!"
I will definitely be finished by then. If I have time to read tonight, maybe I can finish it tomorrow.

Yes me too!! Can't wait to see what other people's opinions are on certain things in the book.
Debbie, have you got your copy yet?
Karen, how goes things with the family? I hope you're enjoying your time with them!

I started reading A Heart Deceived by Michelle Griep. It's getting off to a good start. It is different from what I thought it would be and in a good way! It is written like a dark classic!

You would probably like this one. It takes place in 1795 England. Most descriptions of the book leave that out. It's from a Christian publisher, but I would label it as gothic historical fiction.

Picked up Landline by Rainbow Rowell at the library. I've never read anything she's written before, but I'm becoming a true fan. In fact, I'm loving her writing so much that I've put her other books on my wish list.

Just finished The Deer Leap by Martha Grimes in my re-read of the Jury novels. I now find myself in a conundrum: I don't have a copy of the next book in the series, and neither does my mother. The local library doesn't have one either. So, I either wait for inter-library loan to come through (which could be a couple of days to a couple of months), or I buy a copy. Since I'm....frugal (my wife refers to it as something else) I'm disinclined to spend $12 on a new copy of 30 year old novel. I see my options as buying used (haven't checked the local used book store yet), waiting for inter-library loan or skipping it.I think I might skip the decision for now and read something else for a break. Maybe The Giver or The Martian.

Thanks, Debbie. I already have that one.My conundrum was solved when I stopped at the used book store on my way to the chiropractor yesterday. They had a paperback copy, and it only cost me $1.72 after tax.

Starting The Giver today. You know how old I feel right now? One of my coworkers told me it was her favorite book she read in class...in junior high. I didn't even come out until I was out of college. Argh!

That's funny. At work, we were just talking about songs from the early 80's and I realized one of my co-workers wasn't even born then!

and Sue Grafton's V is for Vengeance
Deb, have you picked a title for the Sept or Oct ex-pats read?
Debbie wrote: "OOh I've heard good things about this TarHeelGirl hope you enjoy."
Karen read this one a few weeks back and said she lost a nights sleep because she couldn't wait to find out what happened to the little boy! I understand why---it definitely has my attention.

Well I'm reading a new author, I seen a goodreads friend was reading it and she and I have similar tastes. Its an Urban Fantasy and I can say I'm not really impressed with it. But will finish it to see how the story ends. Pretty sure I won't pick up the others in the series though. Its called Dark Currents

Getting started on "The Boy in the Suitcase" now. I've only read a few chapters but it seems interesting so far. Like Susan and Tarheelgirl said, there is a lot going on.
So it's Friday and for most of us in the US it's the start of a long Holiday Weekend
What's on everyone's reading plate this weekend?
I'll be on vacation so not only will I turn in my November reviews but hope to get a good deal of December's done too!
I'm anxiously waiting on Valley of Fires By J Barton Mitchell
and Lead and Play by Kylie Scott

Yippee for vacation Debbie! I hope you have a great time.I just finished The Boy in the Suitcase.
And doing a few quick reads before I start the second in the series.
This weekend I'm reading One Two Three (it's a dancing book, Susan and I entered a giveaway for this but I didn't win and was eager to read it)
And I also hope to read
Same thing again I entered the giveaway, but this time Susan was lucky enough to win!!!!
Susan I am enjoying One,Two, Three so far! About a 1/4 read. I would say this is probably Young Adult fiction though, still I'm enjoying it.
I am reading According to Their Deeds by Paul Robertson. Charles, the main character, owns an antique bookstore. One of his customers is murdered and Charles buys back the book collection that he sold him, only to discover things are not as they seem. Not sure yet what Charles is going to get mixed up in, but it's interesting so far!
I started Beyond the Moon by Michele Hauf
She has been a staple author in my reading for a lot of years. And I'm never disappointed!
Susan wrote: "Ang, what are your finale thoughts on One two ,three?"Susan I really enjoyed it, looking forward to the novella and book 2. It was a quick easy read! And the characters really pulled me in.
Just started reading The Hurricane Sisters by Dorothea Benton Frank. The prologue was only 3 pages long, but it captured my attention immediately.
Hi Gang looks like there are some really good book pics flying around here.
It's been a blast on vacation and I've even gotten to read some for pleasure
But just like vacation my for reading is over and now belongs to the publications I review for

I read a prequel to a new series that has just came out.
And now on to the first book
I think its going to be a great series!! I'm really enjoying it.
Finally finished I Am the Only Running Footman. I think I'm getting burnt out on Jury novels, time to take a break and read something else. Maybe I just need a break, period.Think I'm gonna maybe try Fellowship of Fear

I hope you will join us then, also, Kamas. I think you will love the book. Michael will be joining the discussion and he is lively and entertaining with his dialogue. Every time he posts in a discussion thread, it is like, oh wow, I hadn't thought of it that way. Or huh? and bacon I go to see what I missed. It is a blast.
I'm really looking forward to it Karen especially since we like a lot of the same material. Looking like January
I am reading City of Bones by Michael Connelly.
Also, the Exigency group read sounds like it will be fun!
