Oh wow it's been forever since I've been here.
So the weather in the US is finally turning towards fall, Kamas has already had snow
This is the perfect time for me to start reading Christmas stories

Do any of you change your reading habits with the seasons?

If you're a fast reader I have a blogger friend who has a Frater-Fest Read a Thon going on. Here are the details -https://caffeinatedbookreviewer.com/2...

message 1719: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments No, I typically don't change my reading habits by season. They change by my mood usually.

message 1720: by Ang from OZ (new)

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments No they don't really change by season for me either. Definitely mood motivated for me as well.

I'm finally going to try and read "The Book Thief" by Markus whats his name.... I know it starts with a Z. It's 5.30am on Monday morning I can't do any better than that lol.

message 1722: by Sue (new)

Sue | 439 comments Mood sets me too. In the summer I do like lighter reading only because I do a lot of reading while camping. And you don't want a heavy read while you are trying to rush for dinner at the same time.

I'm currently reading Junkie Love by Joe Clifford
And I'm currently listening to The Girl from Berlin (Liam Taggart & Catherine Lockhart #5) by Ronald H. Balson

message 1728: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments I started reading Rutger Hauer's autobiography All Those Moments: Stories of Heroes, Villains, Replicants, and Blade Runners. My musical choice for this read has been Vangelis' soundtrack to Blade Runner.

message 1729: by Ang from OZ (new)

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments I can't listen to music and read at the same time! I always stop reading and start to sing a long to music instead.

Sue | 439 comments I have 3 books that I started thru out the year. I am going to finish them so I can start the new year fresh.

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments Ang from OZ wrote: "I can't listen to music and read at the same time! I always stop reading and start to sing a long to music instead."

I've almost always listened to music when reading. Starting in grade school I would study while listening to my parent's old 8-tracks. By the time I got to college it was CDs.

When I read at work I can't always listen to music. But when I got my new smart phone I loaded most of my music on it and bought some good ear buds (which I promptly lost and replaced with cheap Wal-mart ones) so when I'm waiting around for my daughter or wife I can sit there and listen to music and read.

One of the biggest connections between books and music for me is Tad Williams' The Dragonbone Chair and the early Joe Satriani albums like Surfing With the Alien and Flying In a Blue Dream. There are just so many songs on those two albums that set the perfect tone for the various scenes.

Anyone started reading and Christmas Tales yet.

Are there books you re-read for the holidays?

I read a couple and they will probably be a part of the big December bash I mentioned in off topic chat

Both were really good but this one was AMAZING, Sarah Morgan has gotten better and better. She started writing for the Harlequin series lines, then went to main stream romance and is now writing women's fiction. The Christmas Sisters was a FAB read and if I know her she will probably offer it as a giveaway and since she's in Merry olde England I'm almost sure it will be international
The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan

The other one was by another fab author who writes both mainstream and for the HQN Special Edition line
RaeAnne Thayne's Season of Wonder
Season of Wonder (Haven Point, #9) by RaeAnne Thayne

message 1736: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments I don't really have any holiday reads that I go back to. There are some movies that I watch every year though.

I finished Rutger Hauer's autobiography. It wasn't bad. He's had an interesting set of adventures.

I've now started reading another Kramer & Zondi novel, Snake.

I just finished the Macmillan audio edition of Andrew Gross's latest historical novel, Button Man Button Man by Andrew Gross it was fabulous. For those who don't know Andrew he started out coauthoring with Patterson before going solo. He started out writing contemporary thrillers but then switched to historical.

I also read a fabulous hard sci-fi by fave J Barton Mitchell called The Razor The Razor by J. Barton Mitchell that comes out one week from today.
