So its Thanksgiving so lets talk about your holiday reading. Does your reading habits change with the seasons? Do you love holiday tales whether reading to your children or for yourself.
Me I love Holiday tales, especially the feel good ones that leave me with that warm fuzzy feeling.
Plus I'll be renting a holiday movies every week from now until Christmas to enjoy with my peeps!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Deb, just finished "Home for Christmas" that I won from your blog. It was a sweet little Christmas romance that got me more in the mood for the season.

I also love holiday movies! We try to add to our collection each year. Watching A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Christmas With the Kranks is a must for this time of year at our house!

Do you have special reads you save for this time of year?

No, not really. Most of my Christmas entertainment traditions center around music and movies. Same with Easter.

Thanks for sharing Susan!

I have seen parts of Elf on TV, but never watched it all the way through. It's definitely on my list to watch.

The countdown until Christmas continues, two weeks from today.
Is the shopping done, the packages wrapped, the cookies made, the stockings hung. What's left to do on your to do list?
And what are you reading this holiday season?

I'm in the middle of my March reviews I'm hoping to turn them in early and get one more Christmas novel under my belt!

message 871: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments My wife loves Elf (along with pretty much all Christmas movies), so it's one we own on DVD. A couple of years ago GooglePlay (back when it was still the Android Market) had Elf as a freebie one Christmas, so I have a digital copy of it as well. Personally, I don't care for it. I find Buddy extremely annoying.

January 1st 2016 what will you be reading in the coming year? Do you have different reading goals than last year? Will you be keeping track like Susan? My reading goal for the new year is to widen my horizons and try books that I wouldn't have usually!
Happy New Year!

In 2015, my goal was to get caught up on Michael Connelly's Bosch series and I did, so this year, I want to try to do the same thing for a couple of other series. I also want to read a variety---hopefully a couple of classics and non-fiction, as well as new fiction.

message 882: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 206 comments My goal was to read an average of one book a week, and I did that, so successful! I was also going to make it the year of Margaret Atwood, but that did NOT happen. *sigh* I will attempt that again, to read at least six of her books, but I guess I need to start by just getting ONE read!

don't be too hard on yourself Ruth, Me I'm a resolution breaker, so I just had to quit making them. Good luck!! to you

message 884: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments Congrats, Ruth. I also had a similar goal for number of books. Sadly, I didn't come close, reading even fewer than the year before. I'm hoping this year I make my goal.

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments For 2016 I am looking forward to the next books in series by my fav authors like, Anne Bishop, Patricia Briggs, Nalini Singh and Deborah Blake. I'd like to get in at least one non fiction book, most likely "In the heart of the sea" and finally read "To Kill A Mockingbird" I didn't get to it last year like I had planned. Also to read a few books that are being made into movies.

message 890: by Kamas (new)

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) | 928 comments I'm reading The Forlorn by Dave Freer. It's a mix of Sci Fi and Fantasy, set on another world where humans are fighting a war to the death against an alien species. For a first book it's not bad, but I'm somewhat disappointed in it. I was expecting better.

All of those choices sound excellent, I've read and loved The book about Rosemary Kennedy TarHeelGirl and you're right it was fabulous.

I just googled The 5th Wave Ang wow looks scary!

Hmm Kamas it does look interesting by first book do you mean this is the start of a series?

I'm reading my last book for pleasure The Invisible Girls: A Memoir before I get back to my reviewing. I am excited to be reviewing Harry Turtledove's upcoming April fantasy release The House of Daniel

Anything exciting planned for the weekend?
Have a Great one

I'm reading Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs by Ransom Riggs. I am really enjoying this series! The books are super cool with all the photos and signatures on the cover beneath the book jacket. As much as I love my Nook, this series is more enjoyable as a "real" book. I so want to finish it this weekend, but unfortunately I have to work again tomorrow.
