Ruth | 206 comments Will-do! I'm excited to get some reading time in soon.

message 752: by Andreea (new)

Andreea Danel | 39 comments So I finished All the Light We Cannot See All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and really really enjoyed it!

Today I'm starting In a Dark, Dark Wood In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware . This is one that my husband heard about on the radio and he always calls me when he listens to a book review and asks me: "Ready to write a title down?" :) and I know another good book will end up on my list.

Before we moved into our new home, I was also in the middle of reading the Maisie Dobbs series, which he told me about. I finished 5 out of 10 books already and they are all 5 stars in my opinion. I love the main character and I love the setting (between the two world wars). Every time I am about to start a new book I think of the next book in this series and that I should summon the courage and make the time to go through all the boxes in my storage to find them. Although I was inspired of properly labeling all the boxes when we moved into our new home, there are sooo many of them that it's a hassle finding things..so I keep postponing but one of these days I am going to find it!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

April (april_h) | 159 comments Started reading If You Only Knew by Kristan Higgins. I've never read anything by this author, but I saw this book was featured on Deb's blog a few weeks back and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did, it's a great book! Thanks Deb!

message 754: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 206 comments Andreea: I loved "All the Light We Cannot See." So beautifully sad. I have also read all of the Maisie Dobbs books. I was not a huge fan of #1, but the characters have really grown on me throughout the series. I recommended the series to my mom before I ever read any of it, and she was done with the series and started talking about it, so I had to get on the stick and catch up! Now I need to read "Care and Management of Lies."

For now, I'm still reading "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" and picked up "The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing: A Three Times Lucky Book #2."

Well it's the weekend after Labor Day some of us are experiencing cooler weather finally and with the changing of the seasons come changes in our reading habits too.
Do your reading habits change in the cold months?

What's on your Weekend Reading Plate?
I'm still working on my December reviews. I'll have them all done by the middle of next week and then I get to enjoy some "my reads" ;)

After reading a little more of Big Little Lies, the app started acting up again, so I was disgusted for several days not being able to continue this book. There is a long waiting list for it at the library, but one of the branches had it listed on the "Lucky Day Shelf." I snagged it on Saturday and get to keep it a week. If I keep it longer than that, it's a buck a day. I'm on page 262, so that shouldn't be a problem. And I'm off work today, so I plan to enjoy my book.

Well it's the first weekend in October and I feel like baking this weekend so it's something sweet that will be the result.
I'm also finished with my required reviews and am enjoying some me reads.
I just finished The Crusader's Bride (The Champions of Saint Euphemia, #1) by Claire Delacroix and will be reviewing it on the blog today

I'm still listening to The Renegade's Heart (The True Love Brides) by Claire Delacroix love the narrator

And I've just started the first in a new urban fantasy series by Rachel Vincent called Menagerie Menagerie (Menagerie, #1) by Rachel Vincent I've been wanting to try this author for a while and now's a great time to do it. So far it reminds me a little of Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes (Green Town, #2) by Ray Bradbury

So what are you doing this weekend?

Andreea Danel | 39 comments All this baking talk I think I'm going to bake an apple pie too ^_^. It's my favorite dessert. Otherwise it will be a weekend spent indoors working on the house, reading, and staying dry. Really ugly weather here in NJ..

message 780: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 206 comments I'm reading "The Hollow Boy" (Lockwood & Co. #3) by Jonathan Stroud. I just adore this series for young readers. It rides the cusp of juvenile and YA. Super-fun! It's about an alternate-reality London where a dramatic increase in spirits (ghosts) about 50 years ago has forced the populace to restrict movement and activity once the sun goes down. Specters can only be seen or heard by the young, causing children to be trained as agents and work nights hunting and destroying these ghosts and their sources.

Anxious to hear about the Chocolate Pudding cake!

It's not raining here at the moment, but now the concern is the wind. Hopefully we will see the sun again on Tuesday. Some pretty bad flooding is now going on in SC.

Yes, I think it was due to the hurricane but now the sun is shining and it is the perfect fall weather. I hope this lasts for a while before winter hits.

Right Now I'm reading Sarah Morgan's #2 in her Puffin Island series, it will only be published as a bundle with Susan Mallery in the US- The Ladies' Man & Some Kind of Wonderful (Bestselling Author Collection) by Susan Mallery

But it's already out as a single release in the UK - Some Kind of Wonderful (Puffin Island #2) by Sarah Morgan
I Love Sarah Morgan and am sad that she's not selling well in the States with her new full length novels. :(
So I'm helping her publisher out by doing an early review and they'll plug my blog for doing it too!
Win Win!
