Thanks for the recommendation Susan. Sorry you're having trouble getting our read :(
Over the last several weeks I listened to the audible version of the Fifty Shades trilogy. I liked them. I wouldn't even call it erotic romance and if I did there would be a mild in front. It's always bothered me that we in the US will demonize sex yet run to the theater and book stores to inhale crime drama. We think Fifty Shades of Grey will contribute to the abuse of women even though no one in the books alludes to that at all. Yet we love Dexter and call Hannibal Lecter a sympathetic killer. It's FICTION people!! Anyway that's my humble opinion. Oh and I saw the movie and liked that too! I've asked Ms James for an interview so fingers crossed on that one.
I'm behind again as usual on my required reviews and after many months of soul searching I have given up over half of them because I never seem to have any time to devote to my pleasure reading. So after I turn in all my 15 June reviews I will only have 6 required a month it will free up over two weeks a month for me YAY. I hate saying no but I had to think of me too, even though I'll miss the $$ ;) LOL

Finally finished Tau Ceti the other day, not bad, but could have been better with a few more pages added to the story.Finished The King in Yellow this morning. It was very inconsistent. I liked the supernatural stories, the romances not as much.
Now I need to finish up Rainbow's End this weekend. I've just lost interest in that book.
Still no reading for me. Went to visit my sister, and haven't been able to think of much else since. It's going to be a long road to recovery for her.

I finally made it to the most recent one! I think I may have one along the way that I missed, but after I go back and read it, I will be caught up and actually waiting on the new one due out in November.

Still no reading for me, gosh I've gotten myself in a slump! Just find myself staring at the pages thinking about all the crap going on with my sister (who isn't any better, maybe even a little worse)
Getting a new book in the mail today, that might be enough to wet my appetite again!

I'll have to check the library for that one. Looks like the other one comes out next month.

I can relate to the staring at the page. I'm the same way during trying times. I'll keep you in my thoughts and pray your sister soon improves.

Well it's the weekend again, thank God!
I should be putting the last of my June reviews to bed. I don't know if I've told you all but I'm letting half of my reviews go. There is just not enough hours in the day and it takes away my enjoyment of reading so before I burn out I'm saying NO! :)
besides it also takes away the time I get to spend chatting you all you too!
So what's on your reading plate this weekend?
I'll be finishing up my HQN Special Editions and then I'm excited to be reading Mark Lawrence's June release The Liars Key

"Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty. Interesting. Still not sure who was murdered/killed. Also reading "A Dangerous Place" (Maisie Dobbs #11) by Jacqueline Winspeare. I've only read the first chapter and I'm like, WHOA!

"Big Little Lies" begins with a trivia night school fundraiser erupting in screams and all the parents flooding out of the local elementary school. The remainder of the story are interviews from witnesses and flashbacks to the previous four months prior to the fundraiser. We know someone is dead, and I think we know who, though I'm not sure, but it is hilarious and "true" in women's relationships with other mothers, husbands... I am only 1/3 of the way through.

Ang, I'm right there with you, no reading for me for the last week, don't know if I'll get any done this week.
Right now I'm reading an alternate history called Lincoln's Bodyguard by TJ Turner it comes out next Tuesday and I'll be hosting an interview with the author plus there will be a giveaway for an autographed copy.
Well it's Good Friday for all my Christian Friends and the beginning of Passover for my Jewish ones. Enjoy time together with friends and family.
Will you be reading this weekend?
I just finished Lincoln's Bodyguard, it was really good I'll be posting my review next week when I post the author interview/giveaway on the blog
I've just started a mildly erotic romance by one of my mainstream go-to authors Marie Force. It's called Virtuous and it's the start of a brand new Trilogy but there's enough side stories that she could continue if she chose to. I'm liking it so far.
Next on my list is a fantasy by an author I luckily stumbled upon Donna Augustine and her third in her Karma series called Fated, cant' wait for that
And of course I'll be reading the first part of Senseless Acts of Beauty and formulating discussion questions and will be ready for Monday am's start!!

Oh, and I finished "Big Little Lies" and no, we didn't know who was dead until near the end, but the bigger mystery was who was the kindergarten bully. Loved it!I also picked up "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" which has been enlightening.
Thanks for sharing Ruth
I just finished part two of our monthly read, the meaty part as I like to call it :)
And I'm right now knee deep in hops and barley reading Bitter Brew it's a history about Anheuser Busch and the Busch family too. Really interesting
And I just got my next assignment for LibraryJournal looks like I'll be reviewing the next Anita Blake Vampire Slayer book by Laurel K Hamiton

It's almost like they used spell-check to proof it. One example is Holiday Inn, then it will say Hobday Inn. Or "me" instead of "he." And all of the dialog runs together, so it's hard to know which character is speaking. I'm only sticking with it, because I'm curious how it ends.
