Initially takes place in medieval times. The main character has a book that supposed contains instructions about what he is supposed to do in the future. He leaves his master in the story is is told to come back in a long time. The book ends some time in the future when an old man who i think mentored the main character enter some sort of portal in the back of his cabin that takes him to the future.
