Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 2 (Chapters 9-15).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments Was wondering if we would see Nynaeve again and then she pops up right at the end of this section! I liked her no nonsense character. And when Moirane was telling Egwene that another person in Two Rivers had the gift, I immediately thought of her

Mat and Rand don't follow directions all that well, just spouting off at the mouth about things they should keep quiet. Have a feeling Rand telling Fain where they are staying will make this stay shorter than they had intended

And what was up with that tingling feeling Rand was getting when the Whitecloaks were trying to get fresh? Tapping in to the One Power?

I recall Mat kind of annoying me in this book a bit..but he became my favorite character in the end. Rand on the other hand started off alright, got super annoying and then got cool again. It's a long series though :)

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments Haha, yeah. It's a marathon, not a sprint

But yeah I can see Mat being annoying. He's very childish and irresponsible and has horrible ideas so far. But he's also made me chuckle a few times

Bill | 1596 comments I just shook my head during the whole Rand/Fain discussion. Fain acts so shady the whole time and Rand just keeps dropping more and more information.

I like Mat but he is really childish and just doesn't seem to grasp the gravity of the situation he is in.

I have to copy Min's predictions down somewhere and see which come true throughout the series.

Yeah, I forgot how useless Mat used to be. Ooh Min! I forgot about her somehow. Looking forward to meeting her again.

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 1049 comments I was wondering about those predictions, probably a good idea to write them down.

I was thinking the same thing during that conversation between Mat and Fain. Like, guy, there are some heavy dudes after you keep it closer to the vest

Sumant | 522 comments I just read those predictions for

Perrin she sees
Wolves,a broken crown & he surrounded by trees.

For Mat she sees
Red eagle, a dagger, and laughter

For Rand she sees
A crown,a sword which is not a sword, him pouring water on sand and he placed on pyre surrounded by three women.

For Lan she sees
Seven broken towers and a baby cradling a sword.

I liked these chapters, although the shady Taren ferry men were too much cometic, also Egwene leaving with these guys on a whim guess what her father and mother have to say about that.

There are so many prophecies in these chapters

Like Thom telling about when the dragon will be reborn he says that When tear falls to the people of dragon, and the person draws the sword present in the stone then he will be proclaimed as a dragon

Bill | 1596 comments Thanks Sumant I never actually got around to copying the predictions down.

I wonder if Egwene's parents and the other villagers would think worse of her for running off with the boys or becoming an Aes Sedai?

True that haha

Teanka | 134 comments Thanks Sumant, it's fun to read these prophecies when I remember what they meant later on in the story.
