And then people showed up and it said something like "they were drawn by the yelling and GUNSHOTS." Huh?
That is bugging me way more than it should. Does it say that in the print version?

Yeah, that gunshot comment jarred me too, but I'm also doing the audio.
Contrary to Scott's comments though, I enjoyed this part, especially the prologue and Chapter 4 where Wayne is wandering around making trades. Did they say how old Wax was in the prologue? Either way, pretty young to have to kill someone.
The humor is still pretty bad though. I wish he'd stop trying.
I was pretty apprehensive coming into this book, because I found the last one a bit of a letdown, but so far so good.

Its better than the humor in the Reckoners books, but that sets the bar pretty low. I don't hate it, but it usually comes off as trying too hard to me.

I enjoyed the flashback quite a bit, helped understand some of Waxs motivations later in life. I believe his sister is 16 and he is a year younger.
