ABANDONED. YA/NA book set in a fantasy world with female mages from 2 peoples fighting each other in an astral plane, the main character is maybe called Talon?

There is a third people who act as intermediaries in the wars. The female mages trade places at these bars that are grounding them in the physical world while they fight in a dream scape. The main character is barren.

I read this between 2002-2008.

I'm not sure if I know any other details.

Possibly Bright and Shining Tiger by Claudia J. Edwards? There are Mantics, female mages, who battle on an astral plane and Margraves are male warriors. Mantics and Margraves are paired and responsible for an area. I remember our heroine having a number of showdowns with others Mantic on the astral plane.

This does sound similar, but it doesn't quite ring the right bell. I'll see if I can find a copy of this though, because it looks interesting!
