Does the time of year change your reading habits? Do you read the same kind of books all year or does it change throughout the year based on certain factors?

Cold weather reading vs warm weather?

Or any other factors?

Karin | 415 comments This is an interesting question that I had not thought about. I guess I do sometimes try to read winter themes when it is cold and beach when it is summertime. Otherwise I read whatever I feel or I choose from my TBR jar.

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments The time of year changes my reading A LOT because I teach on a standard school schedule. During the school year most of the books I read are middle grade or YA books except for Christmas break when I try to read at least one adult novel. It's also pretty slow going for me during the school year because of after school activities or grading and prep. During the summer I try to double down and get through as many titles as I can off by TBR list.

I am very much a mood reader, so time of year can easily change what I want to read since the weather and what is going on affects my moods so much. I freely admit to being moody and I am OK with that.

I sometimes find myself with 2 or 3 books going at one time because I don't always stay in the mood to read one for how long it takes to read it, depending on how long it is or how quickly I have gotten into it.

So have you always liked reading middle grade or YA books or is it something that evolved from your job?

I love middle grade books and some YA books, I am kind of sad that DeAnnah is moving out of the middle grade books and more into YA now. It was easier for me to get them off her shelf now I have to go look for them myself.

Lea Ann (buntingla) | 765 comments Oh, I'd say it evolved out of my job. There are so many wonderful titles out there these days, though.

No change here.
