ABANDONED. book in perspective of dog, probably a series

I read a book about 2-3 years ago. It's a book written in the perspective of a dog. I also believe that it's in a series because there were two similar books. The dog just tells us the story in first person, I believe he/she dies at some point but is reborn again and wants to find their previous owner (I think because her life my be in danger). That's all that I really remember. Please help!!
