Dracula was one of my favorite classics last year and female vampires are my favorite kind of vampires, so I knew I was going to enjoy this one. I only wish it had been more developed; there was so much potential! Still, Carmilla is a really good Victorian Gothic that's absolutely worth a read.

A beautiful and timeless tale of star-crossed lovers from Turkey. It reads almost like an ancient myth.

This is a fast-paced, fun and gripping space-opera done in the most beautiful and delicate watercolors. I absolutely loved the artwork in this one. While the story-line isn't the most original, it still has some unexpected twists and turns - and it is more than interesting and complex enough for me to be excited to see where it will go in later volumes.

I was a little disappointed by this collection surreal and bleak urban myths from soviet and post soviet Russia. I wanted to like it more than I did. Perhaps something's lost in translation, cause while most of the stories are based on interesting ideas, they often fall flat in the telling and the prose is sometimes dry and distant. I also think it could have been edited better. Many of the stories are very similar and after a while reading them was a little repetitive and almost tedious.

Finally I got around to reading my first Ibsen and I really enjoyed it. Especially the social satire and the dissection of selfhood. And the trolls. I really enjoyed the trolls.

The stories in this collection are a good mix of the real and the strange. I liked it, but overall it just wasn't very memorable for me.
