I read this book probably within the last five years. It's a YA paranormal book. I believe its time period was the 19th century but I'm not positive (I just know its not modern times). The mother and daughter make their living by pretending to be psychics/mediums but then the mother is discovered as a fraud but then it turns out the daughter really is a psychic so people give her another chance. There's romance. At first, I thought the book might have been Born of Illusion by Teri Brown, but it isn't because in the book I'm thinking of I know the mother gets discovered.

It turned out to be Haunting Violet. I read it again and was honestly disappointed. It was better in my memories.
