Hmm...I forgot with whom I will read this book with. But anyway, I'm going to start in a minute but then I forget mostly the detail in book 1. So maybe I will just skim it first.

Chapter 3, I still couldn't connect with the characters. At first I thought it's because I mostly forget about book 1. But then after skimming it and starting to remember the detail; Merik, Iseult and Safi are still not familiar to me. It's like they are stranger and we haven't met before.

Chapter 5, (view spoiler)[What is it that Iselt has that belong to Corlant?I really couldn't remember if it ever mention in book 1, though I've skimmed a bit of it last night. But as much as I remember, I get the impression that Aeduan is interested in Iseult (and will likely become her love interest). If it's true, then Aeduan basically is a double agent now. Chapter 17, (view spoiler)[When I finished Truthwitch last year, I know that Chiseled Cheater has bigger role that what he has in book 1. And knowing that he captures Safi and the Empress doesn't mean that he's an evil character. I kinda want him to be the protagonist too and his character is certainly a complex one, much like Aedun. And also reading his interaction with Safi, I don't mind if in the end they end up together while Merik with Cam. (hide spoiler)]

What's a Bloodwitch, What does being a Truthwitch mean? And are they "witches" in the sense of spells and potions, or something completely different? So many things... (hide spoiler)]

Ch5 (view spoiler)[So the meaning behind "threadsister" is explained, yay! It looks like it's the equivalent of a life debt in Harry Potter; in that someone has saved your life so you are connected thereafter - or "threaded together" I guess?

Not entirely sure what Cleaving is... is it the equivalent to what happened to Ariana in Harry Potter? In that one's magic (or witchery in this novel I think?) turns against you and destroys you and everything else... only I think in this novel it's related to the wells - whatever they are, and potentially contagious to others with magic? Oh good, thank you! :D It's definitely a confusing novel at this point but it seems to come highly recommended by Sarah J. Maas so at this point I'm still pretty hopeful! XD;;

Oh yeah I think it's a little confusing at first but then it gets going and it's good! I really liked it.

It's definitely confusing. I think it's just because there's so much world-building at this stage?

The world building gets easier to understand as you get farther into the story. At least that's how I felt.

They were just talking about how all the ground, water, plants and animals were killed off and yet there's a place with green grass, sheep and an entire river that's safe to drink? Surely the river would pass through the poison from its source before getting to the settlement, so how is it that this place exists? (hide spoiler)]

Because it definitely looks like by touching the origin of the Water Well together they brought it back to life. When they went there the trees surrounding it were dead, and now Aeduan is saying that the trees are ALIVE. There was definitely more to that so-called 'earthquake' than is being said :| (hide spoiler)]
