Nikki Hopeman (nikkihopeman) | 2 comments Hello everyone! I'm looking for a book I read probably in the late 70s, early 80s. It's the story of a young girl, maybe in her early teens, who lives with her grandfather in a very rural area. They do not have common amenities. Her grandfather's eyesight begins to fail and she must get help from an uncle. She sets out on her horse. She encounters different people along the way, some nice, some not. I remember little details, such as when she boiled water from a stream because it was too close to a town. She finds a lady who takes her in during a storm and she has her first bubble bath. Eventually she gets to her uncle and they get help for her grandfather.

The author *may* have had the first name of "Barbara" or "Barbra." I've only ever seen this in paperback form, and my copy had a bright yellow cover with a red pencil drawing of a girl and a horse.

Thanks in advance for any help. If I can think of other details I will add them.
~Nikki
