I like your treat to check out a few books at the public library. I have to go today to pick up
Joan Didion that just came in for me--if I can get my last three books I checked out finished this afternoon. That second cup of coffee will come in handy for me.
Enjoy your long weekend. Friday night here, thank goodness.

We bought lots of stuff. He got a tea pot and some cups. I got some frames and a vanity. Sadly, I have to return the vanity because it's damaged, and the IKEA store is over an hour away.
This morning, being monday morning, running around like a mad chook, just about to hop on the bus I realised I had left my keys at home. I apologised to the bus driver explaining I had forgotten my keys. He said "no worries, I'll wait for you to get them"
What a nice way to start the week!

Yes, not that the bus drive knew that. Two houses away, on the same side of the street.
I have family coming to visit in a few days, I should be doing so much cleaning. Instead I'm watching TV and playing on the computer. And paying bills. Very unenthusiastically paying bills.

There's going to be a lot more mouths to feed real soon and you might want to study up on some good family recipes to impress them.
Cooking????!!? I think not. My family knows better. But I have some fantastic snacks purchased and set aside for my nephews. I've been dieting, so I've been buying for them some of the things I cannot eat on the diet (and probably shouldn't ever eat anyway). I plan on taking a diet break for at least a couple of days of their stay, but the snacks will still be a vicarious pleasure. (Mostly.)
Yay for a diet break! Unfortunately or fortunately (not sure which) I'm on a permanent diet break.
I'm having a bludgy weekend, it's cold here now.

Cold? So weird these opposite seasons. I cannot imagine June being a cold month. It's HOT here. I'm doing yard projects tomorrow, and I am not excited about the heat.

I'm here! Working on a garden project for our local shelter for victims of domestic violence. Sore today. Off to see Hillary Clinton in Des Moines!
Exciting! Hillary came to our Harborfest when she was running for Senator. My gram thought she was beautiful!
Slightly tired after watching elections all night, very excited about what our new government will look like! (with 10 different parties there are many possible combinations)
My computer broke yesterday so had to get a new one today already. Can't live without it, it seems. Would hate to even try. Tomorrow is a lot of cleaning once I sleep late for staying up so late...
Louise, I want to hear about the elections. I am running for city council. If you want to follow me on Facebook, I'm at Paschen For Ames. Off to the Farmer's Market this morning, then entertaining two wonderful women I have known since I was a girl of 10. One of them was my freshman college roommate. Can't wait to catch up with Stephanie and Lil.
MORE FREAKIN' RAIN!!!Flash Flood Watch/Warning
1.5 to 2 inches with 'locally' greater amounts.
I continue to look for quotes on large quantities of gopher wood. Or cheap airfare to . . . somewhere less soggy.
GRRRRRRR . . .
Yep, Rain and Storms here, too. I want to get out in the garden. And Carl just wants the thunder to stop. Please.

Cold but sunny here. Not sure you would get cheap airfares though. Although the exchange rate is now swinging in your favour.

I was planning on getting in the pool tonight, but the humongous lightning storm hanging out over my area of town killed that plan.
Got out of work early for half day vacation. Watched Jurassic world with son and loved it. About to head to bed. It's been raining here too.
