Emma Jones How in the world do people like Twilight better than HP? It is for all ages and is much more appealing to men/boys. HP is more than love(lust actually, according to Meyer), it's about friendship, family, caring for others, AND animals too!
Plus J.K Rowling is a way better author than Meyer. She created my favorite sport(well, that's kind of not true, the my favorite sport part, BUT STILL!!!), a whole ministry, and other things too. Have you ever heard of The Maurader's Map(don't judge if I spelled that wrong), a Time Turner, or Floo Powder before HP?!?
Actually, I didn't know vampires sparkled and werewolves were shape shifters before I read Twilight... but the question is: did I want to? No. Plain and simple.
And Harry Potter is way better than Bella Swan. He cares about his friends and Ginny. She kicks her friends out of her life and swoons over Edward. He loves his parents though he never met them. She leaves her parents for Edward and eternal life. He is selfless and brave. She can't do a thing without Edward.
The other charters are better too. And the names. Don't forget the names. Look them up. You will see.
There is a lot more too. Like um:
"Hey were is the Twilight Theme Park?"
"IDK, but The Wizarding World is over there."
"But I just spent 2 weeks there."
"Oh."

Aida I've only read the first twilight book and it wasn't even that good. I'm on the second book of harry potter.
i just think harry potter has a more important meaning to it than twilight. i mean how can a girl fall SOOO DEAP in love with a boy she barley knows in such a short time that she leaves everything behind? EVERYTHING!
the thing i like about harry potter is that unlike twilight, it sticks to the importance of friendship and royalty.
the world Rowling created is way more interesting and original than what Meyer did. I think Twilight is a normal teenage romance book with vampires but harry potter...it has a whole new sports, schools, spells, rules and even government!
and for the people who like Twilight better...It's their opinion and i respect that but there's no doubt, Harry Potter is way more extraordinary than twilight!

Emma Jones Yes! Thank you!

S.P. Bagly I do not think they are alike in many ways. Harry Potter is amazing because J.K.Rowling takes everyday life and makes it magical. Like he night bus with the severed head sat nav. Brilliant. The characterisations are amazing, and the writing beautiful and funny. I also like Twilight, but for different reasons. It is a love story, which, I am obsessed with.

Shravs K Copied the below from 'TopTens.com'

Harry potter, neville and so many other characters taught me to be brave, and never give up. Hermione grainger taught me to stand up for myself, not to let people bring me down, you are amazing, just because one side lets you down, you have another side to bring you up. Hermione dealt with racism, and bullying.. And what did bella teach me? Your nothing without a man, if the one you love leaves you attempt lose all the friends and family you do have, don't try and live your own life. Which morals sound better to you?

Most people have their own opinions as to why they love the books they love. Harry Potter and Twilight are two completley different series . I really don't like Twilight , but not because it's not Harry Potter or whatnot, but because it's really not my cup of tea. Twilight was not targeted for all ages because the author might've had a target audience in mind already, Harry Potter might appeal to all ages because J.K Rowling wanted it to. I don't see why people have to make a big deal about comparing both series when there's nothing even remotley similar about them
