Starting Point (Turning Point, #3) by N.R. Walker

I've been holding out to read it. I don't want to say goodbye to Kira!

Me neither, so, Australian author or setting it is :)

message 353: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments finished Minimum of Two by Tim Winton for Australian author and setting :) I will update the spreadsheet now

message 354: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments I've no idea what I might read for this round. Usually I don't really pay attention to the nationality of authors and I can't think of any book set in Australia...

What are you in the mood for? Women's fiction? Chick-lit? YA? MM? UF? Fantasy?

Some recs:
Stolen A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher Sixty Five Hours by N.R. Walker The Rook (The Checquy Files, #1) by Daniel O'Malley Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

I'm not quite sure. I'm slowly getting out of a reading slumb ... :(
The daughter of the Forest looks interesting but I don't think starting with a Fantasy book will help.
I forgot NR Walker is Australian. I could try that.

message 357: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Glad I could help

message 358: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments If anyone's struggling with Australian author or setting I'd imagine we have enough books to do a spell it out.

message 359: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments I finished My NR Walker book :D it was great :)

Cool.

I also finished a novella by NW Walker. It was cute :)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments So we only need Eni to finish Dollhouse And we get max points.

Too bad we can't move on till thursday.

Anyway, for next stop we decided to do spell-it-out because mobile phones on covers are kinda hard to find.

Do we want to spell Christchurch or New Zealand?

I think the only letter we may be missing on Christchurch is the "U". Maybe.

message 362: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Nope, we have an U too.

LOL, I wasn't keen on that one either, but I bit the bullet and read The Liar which is a romance-suspense :) I've updated the spreadsheet

What do we still need for Christchurch, NZ?

Well, after playing a little with the spreadsheet, we have all books already.

Meaning we have already all books for Australia and New Zealand which give us 2 weeks & 3 days to read a Romantic Suspense book and to decide if we want to travel again, this time in Business Class, which means we can do 6 detours instead of only 5.

message 367: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Soooo, since I read a NR Walker novella for Australia, I can use Starting Point for romantic suspense. When I manage to read it, of course :)

I think I'll pass with this one as romantic suspense is really not my genre and I can't find any book whose plot actually strikes my fancy.

message 369: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Ohhhh I've never travelled business class. My husband on the other hand manages to score upgrades all the time when he flies alone.

I'm up for more travel!!

message 370: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Sorry I keep missing updates. I am happy to keep travelling. I need to add another batch of books to the spreadsheet. I keep telling myself to add them as I read them but I am very good at ignoring myself.

message 371: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments I would like to complete this round but I'm not sure if I will stay on for business class. Do we have to complete this round before we can see our itinerary for the next round?

Sara | 1294 comments Ellen wrote: "I would like to complete this round but I'm not sure if I will stay on for business class. Do we have to complete this round before we can see our itinerary for the next round?"

Same here. I think I'll probably give up with this challenge after we complete the last stop as I feel I need a break for a while... I hope it's okay for the team to ask for an eventual hitchhiker to replace me!

message 373: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sorry for the late answers.

@Ellen: yes, we need to finish challenge to know what next trip will be.

@Sara: breaks are needed sometime, so take your time.

message 374: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments For some reason I missed the posts from a couple days ago - sorry! Thanks for using the spreadsheet and figuring things out!

I'm pretty sure I read a romantic suspense book at some point too - but I need to be sure it is in the spreadsheet.

message 375: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay, team, so, I was all excited to continue with a new trip, but sadly, I can't.

Daphne, the winner of the Leprechaun event, did such a good job choosing the next Team Challenge that we are going to attempt something never done before.

And we are aiming for it to start in June, which means next weeks will be pretty busy plotting and working and deciding things. My part even requires some reading done in order to pull it out, so, yeah, no travelling will be possible.

One thing I can guarantee you. It's going to be epic. And you don't want to miss it :)

message 376: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments And yup I had! Glad my memory didn't completely fail me.

I have other books I could add to the spreadsheet but I'm lazy and busy enough that I'll add as we need.

message 377: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments That's ok Sonia! Sounds like a pretty exciting challenge coming up - thanks for doing the work to prepare it for us!

I'm alright with stopping at the end of this trip, or continuing on if enough people want to.

I'm up for anything at this point. Continuing or leaving it, it's all fine with me. I've really enjoyed flying around the world with you guys!

message 380: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Me too - and I've learned a lot from all the pictures and comments!

message 381: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments i can continue or stop here. Whichever you gals want to. I had fun!

And guess what book Sonia HAD to point out to me it would be a good fit for romantic-suspense???? *shakes head* Ty & Zane.

I swear she sleeps with a copy under her pillow or something -_-'

message 382: by Suzanne (new)

Well... I don't because I don't have the physical books... yet! Waiting for Riptide's new editions to come out.

Although I do sleep with my tablet near my pillow and all 9 books plus 3 sidewinders are there *whistles*

message 384: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sooooo, Australia and New Zealand were fun. We're up to our last stop, Boa Vista - Brazil.

It was a fun fun ride so far.

Boa Vista is the capital of the Brazilian state of Roraima. Situated on the western bank of the River Branco, the city lies 220 km away from Brazil's border with Venezuela. It is the only Brazilian capital located entirely north of the equator.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Good Morning Raiders!!!!

I'm half through my romantic suspense book. I'm going to be so sad when I finish it, because I loved the trilogy characters. NR Walker really hits my right buttons :D

message 386: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yay - I'm glad you found a book you are enjoying for this!!

message 387: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Finished my Romantic suspense book, so glad it was a quick read as it wasn't for me

message 388: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments i read the first in In Death and i actually liked it, so i'm happy about that. Well.. Roarke kinda grinds my gears but the rest of the story i liked xD

message 389: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Good reading jobs! Sorry yours wasn't great Ellen.

message 390: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Even though it wasn't my style book I'm glad I read it and that I read a book for every challenge!

It's been a fun trip

message 391: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes it has - thanks for being such great traveling companions!

message 392: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments It has. Sara isn't reading for this round, we need to check on Angel and then cross finish line.
