Chava | 1522 comments when are we moving to the next stop and what are we doing there?

message 303: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments It looks like our next stop is Kolkata - wow I've never heard of it!

And our next task (I THINK) is the detour that says to read a book the mentions a Greek God.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Chava wrote: "when are we moving to the next stop and what are we doing there?"

As soon as I finish my "THE" book.

Sorry... life lately and reading are not that compatible :(

Anyway, I also think, like Suzanne, that for next stop is the detour that says to read a book the mentions a Greek God.

Kolkata is the former Calcutta, and there's a LOT of places to visit there :)

message 307: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Of course, we need to be extra careful not to get lost/separated with so many people and cars and whatnot

message 308: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Wow - I didn't know it was the former Calcutta. Thanks for posting the pictures too!

message 309: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Great Pictures Sonia. How are you feeling ?

From what I can see on the spreadsheet we already have 5 books read for the Greek gods detour which is fantastic.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Well... the proof that something is strange... it took me TWO DAYS to read a 27 page novella.

Anyway, good bye Russia, time to fly to India!

message 313: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Oh no Sonia that is definitely proof how sick you are. Glad you are feeling a bit better. My oldest son is suffering something similar. He is particularly distressed by eye snot.

So glad to hear you're feeling better Sonia. I hope your son feels better soon Grace. My little one is having a yucky 1st birthday today with lots of spluttering, coughing and a fever :(. On the up side, he gets a day with his mummy all to himself (he usually has to share mummy with 3 siblings and a daddy :) ).

Now, off to get some naan and curry for lunch! There should be something like that here in Kolkata right?

message 315: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been very present these last few days. I've been really busy with my studies. I also haven't been able to read much. That's so frustrating.

How are you all?

Nice pictures of Kolkata by the way :)

message 316: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments I finished Selected Poetry by George Gordon Byron , which mentions greek gods. But I can't update the spreadsheets ´till tomorrow.

message 317: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Studies can do that! I love your classic poetry book for the task - very nice!

message 321: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hey Angel, going to start my B1 French classes next month!

Uhmmm... I guess I should try to remember something...

"Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?" is on netflix... I'm wondering if I can change subtitles from Portuguese to French

message 323: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm not a big fan either, but there's a couple of the ones presented on last course I wanna see.

message 324: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Soooo, Real Life has been mean to us, but Eni and I are reading a greek god book.

We just need a couple more days to finish visiting all beautiful temples.

message 325: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I'd love to visit Greece in real life. Maybe someday!

message 326: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Suzanne wrote: "I'd love to visit Greece in real life. Maybe someday!"

Me too. Is on my dream list :)

Paris. London. Italy. Greece.

There are others, but these are the big four.

As readers it's bound to happen. We read so much about all these fabulous places. It's normal to want to visit them :)

Thank you, sorry my computer was acting up (again...sigh)

message 333: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay... Eni has finished her greek god, only one missing is me. I'll try to finish it today.

Next stop will be Darwin Australia. We're still aiming for Australian authors or settings?

message 334: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I'm not sure what we're aiming for but....just point me in the right direction. Australia will be fun!!

message 335: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments I'm welcoming you all to Australia with some snags on the barbie. Don't forget to wear your bathers and thongs!! It's scorching in Darwin and look out for the mozzies, crocs and snakes!

message 336: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I have read a book set in Australia and also one that has an orange dress on the cover if we decide to go with the detour.

message 337: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I still have the same 35 pages to read!

Sorry. I don't think I mentioned here - not something we advertise - our mother is in the hospital for two weeks now. She has some lung problems and her oxygen levels are still up and down.. yesterday was a down day, meaning she got transferred to the intermediate care unit again!

Reading mood is something missing lately. But, it's only 35 pages left, so I'll try to finish them soon. Eni read her book in an awfully small font... so, least I can do is earn us the 50 points :)

message 338: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Sonia so sorry to hear about your mother. She and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery

Don't worry about the reading. It is nice round here we are happy to stay as long as you need.

message 339: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments I am sorry to hear about your mum. I wish her a speedy and full recovery.

I don't mind waiting for you for as long as you need!!

message 340: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thanks ladies, our team is awesome!

message 341: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes there is absolutely no reading rush! I hope the breathing problems all resolve well and she recovers soon!!

message 342: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I'm sorry to hear about your mum, Sonia! I sincerely hope she recovers soon and please, no rush about reading!

message 343: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Finished my Greek Book!!!!

Wooohooo... Australia here we go!

Btw, mum got released this Tuesday! She is already driving us nuts, so, I guess it means she's recovering :)

message 344: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments For Darwin we're reading Australian setting or author, right? Or is it the yellow, orange or golden dress on the cover?

message 345: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments That is wonderful news Sonia, I'm glad she's released and driving you crazy :)

I THINK it is the Australian setting or author, but I'm willing to do either - and I think Grace has already done both?

message 346: by Sara (last edited Mar 31, 2016 10:15AM) (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Such great news about your mum, Sonia!
And glad to hear back from you again :)

Re: Darwin - I too have done both detour and author for our next stop, so whatever we choose is just fine to me!

message 347: by Sonia (last edited Mar 31, 2016 07:17AM) (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Well... I I was planning on reading a NR Walker book next, so, I'm fine with that one. Since I saw some dresses on the read list I thought it was better to ask

message 348: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Great news Sonia. Crazy is good :)

I hadn't a clue on what we were doing for Darwin so I read a detour book and a set in Australia. I can do an Australian author too. I also have a few N.R. Walker to read. Which one are reading Sonia ?

message 349: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Great news about your mum!

I've read Australian author/setting but I have a book with a yellow dress on the cover if that's the detour.

message 350: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments I'm reading an Australian author and Australian setting book. I don't have a yellow dress book :(
