I nearly went there for my erasmus, but was selected for Ireland instead

Me too.

The highlander fan in me may add "There can be only one!"

Ireland is tricky, with the walls of the fae world thinning and all.

LOL

Gosh I'm such a geek.

I swear, when I got the castle picture, my cut&run fangirl could hear a Boston accent complaining "I'm going to die in Scotland!"

message 205: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Angel, which book are you? Ball&Chain setting is in the UK :)

Claire | 4253 comments Sonia wrote: "Angel, which book are you? Ball&Chain setting is in the UK :)"

I haven't started the fourth book yet, maybe soon. For the UK book I'm reading Harry Potter

message 207: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Aww this makes me miss home... Even though we are in Scotland not England. Although I'm not missing the weather. It's cold here in Saudi at 2am but the days are warm and sunny.

Just had to be a typical brit there and talk about the weather!

message 208: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I like hearing about the weather in different places. Maybe it is my British heritage :)

message 209: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Lol do you apologise a lot too?

message 210: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Hubby is from London, he can't stand the heat in Australia, but doesn't stop complaining when it's raining...go figure for a Pom! (Pom = prisoner of Mother England, Aussie slang for anyone from the UK)

message 211: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I DO apologise a lot! Suddenly, I feel a lot "cooler" =)

Interesting - I always wondered what Pom stood for - makes perfect sense!

message 212: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments I just finished Harry Potter =D

message 213: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments I always wondered what Pom stood for too!

message 214: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I discovered the meaning of the word when reading Unbroken. It was an incredibly interesting read.

message 215: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Have a nice Sunday, everyone! :-)

Claire | 4253 comments Sara wrote: "Have a nice Sunday, everyone! :-)"

You too Sara.

So far it's been a great day for me, although the weather is terrible. I went to the used bookstore and found a copy of The Demon King and The Exiled Queen. I've been wanting to read them for a long time :)

message 217: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I'm glad you found some books you are interested in! Great thing for a terrible weather day!

message 218: by Sara (last edited Feb 14, 2016 10:48AM) (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Just wondering, is Becca reading for the UK author or could we move to next stop?

message 219: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Good question - I'd assume not? (Since we still haven't heard from her.) But that's just a guess. I need to check out the next stop just in case!

message 220: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Do we want to start talking about the next stop and what we're going to do?

message 221: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I was just wondering that. I've had a hard time finding books whose pages add to 20 - I could TRY that - but I think I'd rather do setting or spell it out.

message 222: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Suzanne wrote: "I was just wondering that. I've had a hard time finding books whose pages add to 20 - I could TRY that - but I think I'd rather do setting or spell it out."

I'd prefer spelling it out as well. I have a book that fits the G :)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sara wrote: "Just wondering, is Becca reading for the UK author or could we move to next stop?"

We haven't heard from her for quite a while... maybe is worth asking if she's still willing to be on board.

From rules:
◈ If you don't contribute to the team (by discussion or reading books - i.e. you are MIA) for 7 or more days, the team can leave you at the stop and pick up a hitch-hiker at their next stop (i.e. a new member) or continue with one less member.

I think we may have the word almost done... let me check.

message 225: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay so we already have the G_SSI_ and a book that goes for either A or M, from 5 different members. My City Mouse can also go for A or M, so, we get stop 3 in a breeze if we decide for spell-it-out

Of course, since there's only 6 letters, we only get 25 points again.

message 226: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I've just finished a book that works for Detour 3 (pages add to 20) but it's fine to me if we decide to go for the spell-it-out in the end.

message 227: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments I would hate to leave Becca behind if she is still with us. Maybe someone can tell her it's okay to bow out if it's too much? That way she can choose without losing face. Life can get in the way sometimes

message 228: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yeah - I could try messaging her again - but maybe someone else should since I bugged her the first time?

I probably have a few books I should update on the spreadsheet too - I'll go do that right now. I wonder - Could we spell out Saudi Arabia for more points? Ha would we even want to!?

message 229: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments NVM - I'll ask Becca again - I have time to send her a message this morning. I just updated the spreadsheet - sorry I hadn't done those earlier! I was babysitting all weekend - my computer time was limited :)

message 230: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Ok - I sent her a message - I'll let you know when I hear something.

Sara - I have not been able for the life of me to find a book with pages adding to 20! Good job!

That was a lucky coincidence, Suzanne as I had to read the book for another challenge :)
However, thank you for sending a message to Becca!

ETA: a few other pages number adding to 20 could be 299, 389 or 398, 479, 488, 497, 569 or 596...

message 232: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments No word from Becca yet . I hope we hear back from her, but should we maybe set a time limit then look for a hitchhiker if needed? She can always get onto another team as well if/when she feels the urge.

Yeah, maybe we give her until tomorrow or day after tomorrow?

message 234: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Sounds good!

message 235: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments If we do the spell it out who do we have letters from already?

message 236: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Ellen wrote: "If we do the spell it out who do we have letters from already?"

I added them to the spreadsheet, let me check...

Sara I miei sette figli I
Suzanne Sworn to Silence S
Ellen Scarlet S
Grace Color of Grace A|M
Angel Leif G

Off to Saudi Arabia we go. Let's see how we go with the sand :)

I think we have enough books to risk the whole Saudi Arabia spelling... let me try to check - I'm testing processes so I have a few waiting moments :D

Yep, we have. I didn't fill all spots, because I haven't finished my book yet. And we have to decide if we wait for Becca or ask for a hitch-hiker.

Has it been 2 days yet? I think if it's been 2 days, we tell her that we've moved on and ask for a hitcher

I agree. So. I added Gassim's tab to the spreadsheet, with some books we already read. Those can be changed, of course...

message 245: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments okay, I'll pm Becca

message 246: by Chava (new)

Eni | 2349 comments Hai everyone! Thanks for picking me up! Phewww! I was really melting outside!

(I'm Sonia's sister and she conned me into joining. Not like I wanted to. Not that at all! It took a lot of persuasion, i swear!)
