Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments Thanks, getting better but still that headache and achy bit.

I hope you both feel better too. Headaches are horrible.

I have decided on Pasta for dinner, minimum effort :)

I'm at work trying to stay awake (and it's only 12pm!!), so tired!

Have we flown to our next destination yet?

We need to wait till tomorrow.. But any book counts for later, so....

message 158: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Oh, and if Becca is reading for the detour, we need to wait her to finish the book, because I think once we leave the place, that's it, no more books for that stop.

*goes in search of confirmation*

message 159: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Great! Happy to wait as long as we need, I'm loving it in Spain ;)

Yeah, Spain is a great place to visit. Specially when we put rivalries aside and just enjoy it :D

message 161: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Let me check if I have any Tenerife pictures online to share.

message 162: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay not many but... in Tenerife (an Island near the one we are visiting)

I've found, a smart wearing a Herbie costume:

The only place in Europe that features a show with Orcas:

(Yes, I took that picture, with a regular camera.. just kept pressing the button and deleted all messed up pictures)

A stupidly large pizza for one

Dark sand beaches with warm water. Warning, when sun hits, wearing flip-flops till the water's edge is advise... sand turns scalding hot!

message 163: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Oh, lovely pictures Sonia! :)

message 164: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thanks. It was back in 2009. I need a week like that one again.

message 165: by Suzanne (new)

It was. Loro Park is AWESOME. It has dolphins, orcas, a HUGE aquarium with a "shark tunnel" basically is a tunnel made of glass.. since it has that type of shark that stays always in the bottom, we literally have to pass under sharks... wait.. I have a picture...

Chava | 1522 comments Wow!! This is amazing!

message 170: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thanks. I really enjoyed that trip. And as a bonus, they have special tax system, meaning SHOPPING!!!

lol

message 171: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments When do we get the new destination?

message 172: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Soon I think? I believe we were seeing if Becca was reading a cold book. Or, we may have max points, in which case we can just move on? Spain is wonderful, but the UK seems wonderful too :)

message 173: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments We can read ahead, but we can't read for a stop after we moved.... So..

Becca, are you reading a cold book, or should we be packing for UK's funny weather?

message 174: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I don't think we've seen Becca since the 27th? Maybe we should just decide a date to move to the UK if we don't hear from her - and of course, if we do, we can change it. But I'm ok with whatever.

message 175: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Hi :) today I was dressed and ready for work to realise at the last minute that I am on a day off today. You'd think after all my years of nursing and shift work i would be better at reading my schedule. At least I didn't turn up for work this time!
I'm really enjoying the book I am reading right now so I plan to get some reading in and I need to start studying for my advanced cardiovascular life support course later this month. I'm really nervous about this as I have never done it before and also I will have to manage a mega code scenario in order to pass.

As for moving on or staying where we are I don't mind either way what we do. I've already read my book for the uk if that's the route we are going.

message 176: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I'm glad you got an (unanticipated) day off - that sounds like great plans too! Ha yeah I'm glad you didn't actually show up - they may have tried to keep you!

message 177: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 294 comments Yep they always try to keep me! And then you feel like you can't say no.

message 178: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments LOL that reminded me of when I showed up at work on a national holiday I wasn't aware of as an immigrant :).
Good luck with you exam!!

Re moving on, I think someone private message Becca maybe to see she is still part of the travel group or if she has taken a day trip by herself :)

message 179: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments I've updated the spreadsheet with 2 more books :)

Good job Chava!!!

message 181: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments I sent Becca a private message just a little bit ago. Hopefully she is doing ok :)

message 182: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Becca was nice and answered me back - she didn't find a cold book, but she'll read one for our next stop.

Anyway, whenever you guys are ready, sounds like we can move to the UK! Bring your umbrellas :)

Good to know :)

message 184: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments Hey Team!

I'm sorry I haven't read much this book. I haven't had a lot of time to read what with classes starting this week. But I also keep starting new books. It seems like I can't decide what to read :(
BUT I've decided to read Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone for the UK book :)

message 185: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4253 comments Suzanne wrote: "I sent Becca a private message just a little bit ago. Hopefully she is doing ok :)"

Did you get any reply?

message 186: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Yes, she still wants to play but said go to the next location.

Angel - that's a great choice for the UK book! I've done that too with starting lots - waiting til something "catches" me.

Good luck with your new classes!

Thanks :)

There was a Harry Potter event at Waterstones today and it made me want to reread the books :D

message 188: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I too am going to read a Rowling's book for the UK author, The Tales of Beedle the Bard :)

message 189: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hey team!

As usually, I tend ti disappear on weekends... and I am not reading much either... not sure which UK author/setting I'm reading... Cuckoo's Calling is whispering my name... but I'm not sure I want a paperback at the moment... maybe it's time I give Peter Grant another chance... still deciding....

message 190: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Good morning, Sonia!

I'm working on our spreadsheet for our next stop. I thought it was time since Becca won't be reading any cold book anymore.

Can you supervise me when you can? ;P

It's good. Only thing I did was to set up the new formula... The detour and task points are different.

Otherwise it was good :)

Hello Raiders!

So, even if it is a rainy day I'm in a very good mood. Finished Country Mouse for the detour - and started City Mouse too, because I need more Owen & Malcolm

Also, the awesome books news of yesterday made me very happy.

I've been thinking about making possible to do the trip & attending of the two plays, I still am, because it was the original purpose, but, having the chance of at least reading the cursed child, makes my inner Harry Potter fan all giddy.

And, is already thursday, even if with the holiday in the middle of the week feels like monday or something, but tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sooo... I was looking for pictures of our trip, and first result was the Aberdeen University:

So pretty... It almost makes me to be back at uni again...

Onto some more places to visit!

message 198: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) | 665 comments I like Aberdeen Uni, very pretty building. I lived in Glasgow for 4 years. I could share some UK pics but you don't want the view outside my window lol It is cold wet and miserable.

message 199: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I know the weather is bad... but when I think Scotland, I think this:

Or better yet, this:

So, there is no possible way I'm not enjoying this visit

message 200: by Suzanne (last edited Feb 12, 2016 05:54AM) (new)

Suzanne | 5417 comments Nice pecs pictures! I think this must make it to my list of another place to visit!

I guess maybe all the cold and wet you mention Grace is what makes it so green? Sounds like a good day to stay indoors with a book :)
