I like the name choices especially page to place.
I mostly read on my kindle here and should be able to get a book for any goal. I would prefer to read by setting or author place (it would help with some individual challenges) but am more than happy to go with the flow.

I think we have had "seconds" on Armchair Wanderers and Page to Place - so everybody speak up and say what name you'd like and what your Spain preferences are :)

Yep, the Indiana Jones vibe sounds good to me ;)
However, I've just finished my first book (a rather small one) since the challenge started, so I created a temporary shelf for it. As soon as we have our team name I'll change it accordingly!

I like Book Raiders - it wasn't Indiana Jones inspired, but Lara Croft... Close enough lol.. And Page to Place.

Oh, I love notebooks - and stationery in general ! Such a great

What a great thing to do Sonia!
And yes, I'm loving the notebook. My post-its were getting WAY out of hand.

Done with your French classes then? :)

For now. I'm waiting for the advanced edition... I mean, the B1 class. Till then, it's Spanish time. Since my current team project is half Portuguese half Spanish, it's a good motivation . And I really need to start reading the French books I've got. Before I manage to forget all things learned
Okay, time to bed.
Are we all voting for Book Raiders?

If we do a spell it out would we loose the bonus points of having more than six team members involved?

good point. I hadn't thought of that either... I'm fine with either of the 2 other options

Happy to do the detour - now to find a book set in the cold :)
Do we want to allocate someone to do the communications with the Travel Agency?

I will start searching for cold books too :)

If you or Suzanne or Ellen want to step forward, I'm fine with it.
I'm one of the Travel Agent's alter-egos, so during "my shift" the point is a bit mute, however, a lot of things tend to happen when I'm sleeping, so, is not a bad idea to have someone to call for help in case it can't wait.
Usually, when deadlines exist, they tend to be during weekends, and I made the effort to be up for them, otherwise, I'm off between midnight and 8 (GMT time)

Yes, we can spell it... I'm just not sure if we need to spell the entire word - not my challenge, so I need to read the rules better.
The detour usually rewards more points. And this one is a good one to do.

Someone asked about spell out and points in the airport lounge, this was the answer:
NBRC Travel Agent | 56 comments No problems.
Spell-it-out rules
Using the first letter in the book’s title, the first letter of the series name, the first letter in the author’s first or last name, or the first letter of a character’s first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter in the audiobook narrators first or last name.
If you are reading a translated version, you can also use the first letter of the translator's first or last name.
As always, if the first letter of a title starts with ‘A’, ‘An’, ‘The’, etc., you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word.
You can check out the example under the spoiler tag here
Only books read by members of the team since challenge started are able to be used for the spell it out? Or must books be read that week?
As soon as you are assigned a team, books STARTED from then count for the whole of the challenge (min. 8 weeks)
Also, am I correct that if the country/city is less than 6 letters long then the max number of points the team can get for that spell it out would just be 10?
Points
TASKS
◈ Completing a task will earn the team 10 points AND
◈ If at least 6 members of the team read a book that contributes to the tasks, that is an additional 15 points AND
◈ If ALL team members read a book for the time you are at the stop, that is an additional 10 points
--so you would not get the additional 15 points. Just 10 and 10 if you did the spell-it-out and all read a book. So some teams have already worked out not to do the spell-it-out for countries like Japan or Spain as they want maximum points :)

Yes, that was my idea too.
doing the detour will give us 50 points - if we all read a cold book.
Karen already unlocked the spreadsheets, so we can work on some tracking tabs :D

I'd be for the detour then; let's keep the spell-it-out for when we agree that the task is more difficult to cover :)

Okay, so, I added some tabs on the spreadsheet
One for our first stop, the other to keep track of our books read, since they can be used for future stops.
I think everybody can edit it. Let me know if you can't.
Also, checked with Karen, and if we chose to spell "Santa Cruz De La Palma" instead of "Spain" we have to complete the word to earn the 10 points. That's 18 books to earn 35 points. With the detour, we only need to read one book each to win the 50.

I was about to ask if we can bank books so great thing that you anticipated me with a yes! :)
BTW, where do we post our books read, Sonia? Do we need a format for our completion posts?

I was about to ask if we can bank books so great thing that you anticipat..."
Well... no format needed... just post them here.. if you want you also can add them to the "Books Read" tab on the spreadsheet - link is here and on the Travel Agent post, I think it's the #4.
Also, a shelf is good, just to make it easier... there is no team captain for this challenge, but, if someone is not comfortable with spreadsheets, the others can help and type, is a team work.
I may add some formulas & formatting, but only on the weekend, and if nobody beats me to it first.

I was about to ask if we can bank books so great thing that ..."
Great, thank you :)
I'm going to add

I agree - having everyone read a cold book beats reading 18 letter books =D

Sonia, you are indeed the perfect travel agent representative. I'm sure any of us would be happy to back you up if it's ever needed.
Happy cold reading.

I'm going to read Vixen's Valor. It's 82 pages, so too short for tower teams, but perfect for here. Specially because the setting is the North Pole City where the Rein Dears are pilots which only purpose is the big flight - you know, Santa's present distribution - with a little of MM smutt to keep us warm in winter *giggles*

I think I'm going to read The Call of the Wild. I have one about a snowglobe that I was considering too, but it is pretty long, and I just finished a LONG book (1400 pages) and am in the mood for short!

Oh yeah. I tend to enjoy Charlie Cochet's books. She writes good Alpha males that grab attention any day.
I need to continue with the THIRDS series soon.

Suzanne, I too have 'The Call of the Wild' in my to-read list from ages. Let me know how you like it!
I'm going to start the Italian edition of City of Thieves - 1942, Russian winter setting :)

Then I'll start with Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz

Then I'll start with Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz"
Yep.
All books started after the thread is posted can be used later for points.
And don't forget this time we can use authors' and translators' names, when the edition we read is a translated one.
