Thanks. I will update my spreadsheet tomorrow.

Daphne (daphnesm) | 937 comments If anyone has any suggestions for a book that isn't urban fantasy, romance, or children's that is short or totally awesome, please let me know. I am read pretty eclectic stuff, but there doesn't seem to be many options for tattoos on the cover that isn't UF/romance/smut and that just isn't my thing. I started The Blue Tattoo: The Life of Olive Oatman, but couldn't get into it at all.

This one might be the only detour I can't really do. :(

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments It is very hard to find anything that hasn't got romance in it, since for me that is all I read but I had a look and found some, not sure if they are something that you like but I thought I would post just in case you are interested.

The Tattooed Lady A History by Amelia Klem Osterud The Tattoo by Bryan Dunn Bodies of Subversion A Secret History of Women and Tattoo, Third Edition by Margot Mifflin Tattoo Mystique The Art and World of Angelique Houtkamp by Angelique Houtkamp Heavily Tattooed Men and Women by Spider Webb

So I couldn't find more.

Daphne (daphnesm) | 937 comments Thanks for the recs. Going to try to get my hands on The Tattooed Lady: A History, but don't have my hopes up. It looks interesting though. Don't have access to any of the others besides the second one listed, and that one is too short for me to use for any of my other challenges. :(

Sorry I don't think I'll be able to contribute this detour. I do have books for all the other detours either finished or on deck. :)

I had that problem as well, so I am going with Yossel, April 19, 1943, 128 pg historical fiction graphic novel about the Holocaust. I don't normally read graphic novels, but I know this will be easier to swallow over the romance ones that filled my search as well.

That one does look interesting, but I don't have access to it. Not available in ebook/cbz format from what I can see. :(

That is too bad, I was able to get at my local library. I tend to gravitate towards books dealing with WWII so I thought, I wonder if a cover would show the tattoo/number that was given to those in the camps, and found this in my search.

message 458: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Daphne, if the time period interest you, I just found this book as well with a tattoo.

Auschwitz and After: Second Edition

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments okay guys I have some bad news, my laptop has decided it don't want to work anymore so we have a big problem. I won't be able to update the spreadsheet or do anything really. I'm on my phone at the moment but you cant really do stuff on it, so one of you guys is gonna have to take over. now I have already read a book for every stop I don't have to drop out I'm just gonna be a little quite for a while till I get it fixed. I'm really sorry.

message 460: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Bummer for your laptop troubles Stephanie! Computer problems are no fun!

I can try and update if nobody else steps up. Google and me don't always get along.

message 461: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Who else is working on a tattoo book? Currently there is a little over 21 hours on the current timer.

We have Michelle and Stephanie as done.

I am half-way through my book and will get it finished up tomorrow, probably not tonight as I help my daughter prepare for an exam tomorrow.

message 462: by [deleted user] (new)

I forgot to post. I finished my tattoo book a few days ago. I read Warrior (The Fallen, #3) by Kristina Douglas

message 463: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Great, if you get a chance to add it to your tab on spreadsheet in the next day that would be great. If not I can add the bare minimum when I go in and update.

message 464: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I did end up finishing my tattoo book last night.

message 465: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I will have to check the spell-it-out method when I get home and let you guys know what we have.

message 466: by Plethora (last edited May 11, 2016 09:50PM) (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments So if I calculated things right, spell-it-out and detour gives us the same 25 points. Any preferences to which option we take? Did anyone else complete a tattoo book and not post?

Tattoo books finished by: [4 Members to complete detour - 25 P, next point bonus is with 7 members]

1. Bookworm
2. NancyMaire
3. Kate S
4. Michelle
5. Stephanie

Spelling UZBEKISTAN uses books by: [Completed - 10P, 6 Member - 15P, next bonus is with all 8]

4. Michelle
5. Stephanie
6. Daphne

message 467: by Kate S (new)

Kate S | 1998 comments Thank you for evaluating these options for us, Plethora.

I would vote for the spell-it-out option as that uses books from more members.

message 468: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments I just finished my tattoo book can it still count? I added it to my personal spreadsheet, but I left the main one blank.

message 469: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Yes, we can add it since we hadn't officially completed the leg.

message 470: by Plethora (last edited May 12, 2016 07:45PM) (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments We still are at 25 points with both. Anybody else like to weigh-in on using Tattoo/Detour option or the Spell-it-Out/Task option so we can start the next leg?

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments Update: I took my laptop in, I don't know how long it will take to fix hopefully only a couple of days.

Thanks for taking over Bookworm.

message 472: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 3595 comments I'm good with whatever option.

message 473: by Plethora (last edited May 13, 2016 07:14PM) (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Ok, so to preserve our Detour options I went with the Spell-it-Out option for 25 points.

Next stop:
Bangalore, India

So the detour task for this stop is to read a book with clouds on the cover. In checking most of us have already done this task.

Here is the countdown clock: Stop 5

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments

In checking the following have already completed a book with clouds on the cover:
NancyMaire
Kate S
Michelle
Stephanie
Daphne

Zeni and Jesse do you have a book in mind to work on? I have my book from the library to start this weekend towards the goal.

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments I just got my laptop back, they fixed it faster then I thought they would.

message 476: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments That's good to hear Stephanie, even though I survived part of my life before the gadgets took over, I like them now.

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments You don't realize how much you use it until you don't have it in front of you.

Guitly! :) Signed up a few minutes ago.

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments I really want to, but were gonna be moving soon so I'm not sure if I should or not. I don't want to get assigned a team and get all excited and then have to pull out. Maybe I might put myself on the backups or reserves of something.

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments Hi guys sorry I was out of town this weekend for a wedding, but I did get a small start on my book for clouds. It's called A Town in Blueberry Jam. I'm going to try and make a big dent in it today.

message 485: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Thanks for the update Zeni.

message 486: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments I almost want to sign up for Wobble, but I know how I've been in this challenge and I just don't think I would be able to keep up. Ya'll are such fast readers, I wish I had your skills.

message 487: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments Finished Town in a Blueberry Jam (A Candy Holliday Mystery, #1) by B.B. Haywood for my cloud book and updated the spreadsheet.

message 488: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Thank you Zeni!

I'm working on wrapping mine up.

Jesse are you still around?

message 489: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Sorry for the delay in getting the last stop posted. I went with the detour, clouds on the cover for 40 points with 7 members.

message 490: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Next stop:
Karratha, Australia

So the detour task for this stop is to read a book where a character has more than one lover. In checking some of us have already done this task.

Here is the countdown clock: Stop 6

message 491: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hi.

message 492: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Hi Zeni --- it has been very quiet in here!

message 493: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments I like to imagine that it is just too nice outside and everyone is enjoying the weather instead of on their computers. Then I remembered not everyone is in the northern hemisphere.

message 494: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments About a day left, is anyone still around? Have a few that haven't checked in and the spreadsheets don't reflect a lover book.

message 495: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 3595 comments Zeni wrote: "I like to imagine that it is just too nice outside and everyone is enjoying the weather instead of on their computers. Then I remembered not everyone is in the northern hemisphere."

Since the nice weather started I'm busier than normal. Planting a garden, preparing for vacation, and having a tooth extracted... You know all those kind of fun things..lol

Michelle | 3595 comments A Bookworm Reading (Plethora) wrote: "About a day left, is anyone still around? Have a few that haven't checked in and the spreadsheets don't reflect a lover book."

I should already have a book that takes care of this task.

An Abundance of Katherines

message 498: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments So decided to throw in Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak when I read to my son this evening so I will be adding that to the spreadsheet for my "Favorite book from childhood." I wanted to stick with just using one of the first hundred and it was the only one there that we owned and I hadn't put on my bookshelves.

message 499: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Oh, thanks for reminding me i should get on my desktop later tonight and actually finish the last leg so we can start the next one.

I can't really do anything with the spreadsheet when I'm mobile.

I loved that book growing up. I never did watch the movie that came out a few years ago. I think I'm afraid it would ruin the book memories for me.

message 500: by Zeni (new)

Zeni Taubl | 308 comments I find myself torn between wanting to know how they did the movie and feeling like I really just don't want to ruin the book by watching the movie.
