My spider sense is tingling, whispering to me that Brynden Tully is gay. I didn't see that the first time I read it, so I'm kind of excited for my 'finding'.

Aw geez you are very likely right. After reading your post I looked at the appendix under House Tully. I could not remember to well which dude he is.

Yep he is the one who was never married and would be a very "GOOD CATCH" to any woman. (see what I did there with the Tully sigil)

Haha, nice pun. It's not just that he isn't married, maybe he just had no luck with women, or idk. It's more how angry Lord Hoster was about it that got me thinking. And why he hadn't married that girl they kept talking about.

Yeah what I meant (but didn't post in full) was that he isn't married and doesn't seem to care if he ever gets married.

For that time and situation everyone seems to be married. (well except those ugly girls of Frey's lol)

The connection that I am wondering about is Maege Mormont and Ser Jorah Mormont. I am trying to figure out how they are related. Ser Jorah Mormont, I take it, is the Mormont that deserted from The Nights Watch. Please correct me if I am wrong. I think this family connection between the Starks and the Targaryens is important and may foreshadow Jon Snow as being related to Dany? What are your thoughts?

What I mean by the Snow and Dany connection is that Jorah serves for Dany and Maege serves the Starks.

Maege Mormont is Jorah's aunt.

Also, Jorah didn't desert the Night's Watch. He fled Westeros because Ned wants his head for selling slaves.

Thanks for the clarification Hazel!!! I thought he deserted due to the conversation between Jon Snow and The Old Bear concerning Jons' "almost" desertion attempt. The Bear states: "Even Jorah Mormont had not done that, [deserted] when he fled in disgrace. Doubtless Lord Mormont would find someone more worthy of the blade" (646). Would the blade be a reference to Ice? Why would The Old Bear be using the Jorah Mormont example to give Jon Snow a lesson about not desertion from The Wall if Mormont did not desert? Kind of wondering now.

No, Mormont is referring to the sword that he gives to Jon, Long Claw. Ice is the Stark family sword and Longclaw is the Mormont family sword.
When The Old Bear took up the Black he left the family sword to Jorah, who then disgraced himself and fled Westeros, leaving the blade behind. Maege then became the Head of the House but gave the blade back to the Old Bear, who then gave it to Jon Snow.

Robb has grown so much- he kind of had to!
Another reference to a Stark being a King of Winter... I really think when the winter really comes it should be a Stark on the throne.
