I can't believe she got turned into a special! What I didn't like was that she just escaped, and tried escaping the whole book, only to get caught again.

I don't like David so much right now. And I don't get why does his mother hate Tally so much.

Who has tally become? (view spoiler)[ It is amazing how quickly Tally changed once she had the sergury. I mean, face tatoos, things in her eyes etc? She has completely forgotten her mission which is a little worrisome, when they come for her, what will she do? Also, her and Paris don't really seem to be a thing anymore... Hmm, interesting. Her and Zane though, how did that happen so quickly? It seems a bit off, except predictable by the descriptions in his writing. (hide spoiler)]

Taking the pill (view spoiler)[ Being bubbly must be a great feeling, much better than being/feeling bogus. But how can these tricks impact the brain? I wonder which hormones it triggers and why they release old memories? Her and Zane know that finding this cure is essential to getting out of Pretty Town, I feel Zane has it in him much more than tally, he seems to suspect things, and it is intriguing. I know we find out later his betrayals, but I wonder if that impacted how he acted without him remembering? Anyway, so when they take the pils, they split them, but for some reason.... I knew that would be a bad idea. Why cant tally ever take responsibility for what she has to do? I feel she is always whining or unsure rather than sucking it up and taking responsibility. I don't really like her character anymore. (hide spoiler)]

Poor David.... He doesn't deserve the treatment from Tally and his mom. It seems he is conflicted on where to stand and just wants to best for the new Smoke overall.
Did Shay become a special willing to seek revenge on Tally? (hide spoiler)]

Finished So, overall, I thought this was more a 3.5. I loved her action in the forest and parts of her and Zane exploring but I didn't love this one as much as the first. I think the third book will be better though, this was kind of setting the stage for everything else.
LOL team david or team Zane? Not sure.
Will she make it back to the forest to help Andrew and his village?
And how will Mattie pan out in all this. She makes me really sus and I am not sure why.

(view spoiler)[ I think Shay got addicted to the high of cutting herself and the doctor used that and got to her and told her its so much better once you become Special so she probably just wanted to feel something. but who knows, Shay seems to have some serious issues. (hide spoiler)]
