Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3851 comments I am reading this book for week 8 - a classic with less than 200 pages.

It's the story of a young man traveling through India in search of spiritual enlightenment in the time of Guatama Buddha. I have been meaning to read this book for over 30 years and am finally doing it. I am enjoying the story and Hesse's lyrical/poetic writing style!

Kathryn | 259 comments I'm also reading this for Week 8! My dad lent it to me with a high recommendation (he almost never reads so it's rare that recommends anything) about 10 years ago and it has been sitting gathering dust ever since. I'm glad this challenge has given us the motivation to pick up books that we never got around to before!

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3851 comments I agree Kathryn! Hope you enjoy it. I liked the first half better than the second. Overall, it was a good read.

Marta (gezemice) | 859 comments I read this last year and loved it. One of those books that really makes you think about what is truly important.
