Hannah Davenport I released my first book December 5th. It's listed on Amazon in the Kindle Select Program. I started an ad campaign and everything was going great. After about two weeks, they said I needed to update my credit card info. I did even though the card was still good. I've bought things on amazon with it since then. It kept showing a billing error and now I can't even see my ad campaign page. I've contacted amazon several times but the issue is still unresolved. I'm almost finished with my second book, and I think after I get this amazon issue resolved, I'll forgo the select program and try other avenues of publishing and advertising. I do currently advertise on Goodreads. Anyone have any suggestions?

Martin Wilsey | 447 comments You should solve the problem. Amazon is the single largest market in the world. Bigger than ALL the others combined.

Call support, email them, do what ever you need to do to sort it out.

Hannah Davenport I have and will continue to do so. I'm just wondering if I should look at other avenues, but still publish with Amazon.

Dylan Callens | 193 comments I am really not a fan of AMS for a number of reasons. If the only reason that you want to stay with KDP is because it gives you access to advertising, then I wouldn't.

KDP itself has a number of great benefits to it, though...

Jennifer Roche | 1 comments I do use KDP Select for my book Healing Ties but when it comes to marketing your book and promos your best bet is to create Buzz before you even hit the published button!

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) If the question you are asking is whether or not to stay in Select, there are several threads already on the subject. Here is the latest: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If your question is more in regards to what paid targeting ads work, there are several threads on that topic as well, including this one:
