I don't, but I've been listening to a lot more bluegrass lately which is just a few steps from country.

TPBM doesn't like to read in bed.

message 852: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I really don't, I'd rather read in my chair with a good light and nobody bouncing next to me. I do it sometimes though.

TPBM has an exotic animal.

message 853: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I used to have an Uromastyx, which is a vegetarian lizard. Had to let him go to move to New Zealand though 🙁

TPBM has walked their 10’000 steps today

message 854: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments currently at 28,000, but had an agility dog show today and that adds a lot. Plus it was the first good weather day in a while and I am mowing too.

TPBM eats more than three meals a day.

message 855: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I eat about 7 meals a day haha! I have hypoglycemia (which sounds worse than it is) but if I don't eat frequently, my blood sugar plummets and I am not a pleasant person. They are small meals (mostly just snacks), but they count.

TPBM finished a book this weekend!

message 856: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I did. I read a book in one sitting--which is unusual for me. Dirty Work. One of those that leaves you sort of gasping for air at the end. 5-worth every minute-stars.

TPBM does laundry on Saturday.

message 857: by Deena (new)

Deena Abutaha (mwinamman) | 67 comments Yes I do, because when I come home on weekdays I want to curl up with a book and relax. Our weekends are Friday and Saturday, so I use Friday to run errands and Saturday to clean the house.

TPBM is looking forward to summer vacation.

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
Yesssssss. I have 4 days of classes left with my seniors and 11 days left with the rest of my students and I'm just dreaming of long reading days at home all summer.

TPBM watched Game of Thrones last night.

I did not; I'm actually about 300 pages away from finishing the 3rd book. I want to finish them all before watching the series. Of course, everyone is spoiling the heck out of everything on Facebook so it might be a fruitless goal. But I really enjoy the books, as long as they are.

Congrats on almost being done! We have 37 days to go. I still have to work 20 days in the summer, though, so it's not TOO exciting.

TPBM prefers pen over pencil.

message 860: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Yes, and I really love a good fountain pen instead of ball point.
I was always envious of my friends who were teachers for having the entire summer to spend as they pleased!

TPBM can do calligraphy.

message 861: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I can’t unfortunately and my hand writing is horrible as I hardly ever write anymore!

(I haven’t watched Game of Thrones either and can’t believe I haven’t been spoiled yet! Let’s hope it lasts 3 more weeks until I get home 🤞🏻)

TPBM likes thunderstorms

message 862: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments I love thunderstorms; I grew up with them in the Midwest and South (USA). Unfortunately there are very few in the San Francisco Bay area.

TPBM likes to dance.

message 863: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments No to dancing, yes to thunderstorms.

TPBM is planning a vacation.

message 864: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments No vacation plans yet for this year... but I can still hope.

TPBM is having computer issues today.

message 865: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Thankfully no.

TPBM is participating in more than one reading challenge.

message 866: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments I just added a mini challenge of 5 books -- so yes.

TPBM has voted in the Book of the Month poll -- (there is currently a tie for the winning book, so please vote!) There is a link to this poll in the Book of the Month Section under the topic June suggestions.

message 867: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I did vote, then changed my vote, then changed my vote again, and, in the end, the book I voted for was neither of the winners.

Sigh.

TPBM already has in mind how they will tackle the reading challenge next year.

message 868: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Sorry, Emily. :(

I do. I am going to split it between books I want to re-read and books I have on my physical bookshelf waiting. At least, that is what I am thinking right now.

TPBM is following the wild discussion about the rules for voting on the next list.

message 869: by Ghoti (new)

Ghoti | 2 comments True.

TPBM is in North America

message 870: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments No, I'm in Europe.

TPBM is going to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge

message 871: by Katherine (new)

Katherine McKenzie | 61 comments NO, I am not! Currently behind on my 52 books challenge and plan to catch up on that one.

TPBM does not like summer weather.

message 872: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Absolutely intolerant of it as I age! It is 98 and humid here today. Another day that I simply cannot get outside and do anything for long.

TPBM sings in the shower.

message 873: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments I don't sing in the shower. But, annoyingly, in alpha order, I review my remaining books on my 2019 ATY while soaping up!

TPBM bought some summer sandals this week.

message 874: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Nope, I have feet that need more support than most sandals provide.

TPBM likes historical fiction.

message 875: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments Yes, I read a lot of historical fiction.

TPBM has hand written a letter within the past year.

message 876: by viemag (new)

viemag | 180 comments No, I am way to old to be graduating from high school or college this year.
TPBM lives where the outdoor temperature is above 85.

message 877: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
Yep and yep. It actually feels cool at the moment because of the impending hurricane, but the breeze is nice.

TPBM has lived through a natural disaster.

message 878: by Katherine (new)

Katherine McKenzie | 61 comments Two actually, hurricanes Camille and Katrina plus lesser ones over the years.

TPBM has never experienced a major or minor hurricane.

message 879: by Entropia (new)

Entropia | 283 comments Yep, I've never experienced hurricane, just something like halny couple of times (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halny).

TPBM would like pets to be more intelligent.

message 880: by Shari (new)

Shari (sharigoodreadscom) | 38 comments How true that is! My stress feels beyond measure right now. Thank goodness for books to transport me somewhere else, even if just for a brief period.

TPBM thinks perms and scrunchies will make a successful comeback, and might even be contemplating one.

message 881: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Audiogirl.booking.it (audiogirlbookingit) | 488 comments I am not sure about perms... but did Scunchies ever really die?? I know we have had some floating ever since but now my daughters start to want to use them!! For me the perm thing was a once and done never to be repeated... but not sure it will make a come back...

TPBM Has kids in year round school like mine are and has kids back in school already!

message 882: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Nope... my kids are parents now and my grandchildren have another week before school starts.

TPBM has a dog.

Raquel (Silver Valkyrie Reads) No, but we keep talking pros vs cons, especially after (mostly) enjoying dogsitting for family a couple of times recently. (The main thing that holds us back is my health issues and the urgency of using energy to take a dog out several times a day, even on the rough days.)

TPBM wishes their current read was more fun.

message 884: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) No, the one I finished today was plenty of fun. If I were wishing for anything, it would have been more complexity.

TPBM has started planning their 2020 list.

message 885: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
Of course I have! I'm such a planner.. but I will probably completely ignore the list I've started come December and start all over.

TPBM ate at a restaurant for their most recent meal.

message 886: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Sort of. I ate at Panera which isn't exactly a restaurant.

TPBM has voted in the 7th poll for next year's prompts.

Raquel (Silver Valkyrie Reads) Edie wrote: "Sort of. I ate at Panera which isn't exactly a restaurant.

Okay, I'm intrigued! I had to go look up the definition of restaurant because I thought it was basically anywhere that you pay for food. The dictionary I found said this, "a place where people pay to sit and eat meals that are cooked and served on the premises," which is pretty similar. (Edit: I realize this technically excludes things like McDonald's drive-through, but since there's still an option to sit and eat, it's still a restaurant, I think... Personally I would still call it a restaurant if it was only a drive through, so maybe that's my confusion?)

So, what's YOUR definition of restaurant? Is this a difference in regional usage?

Since I'm posting... no I haven't voted yet for the 7th poll, still making up my mind.

TPBM is reading this on their phone.

message 888: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Nope, one of the few people in this world who do not have a smartphone. And, yes, I survive quite well.

I think the distinction being made, for me, isn't a literary one--it is the difference between a fast-food joint and a restaurant, a place where they employ a chef. I would not think of McD's as a restaurant. On the other hand, I would definitely consider the local "pizza" joint, where they serve some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten, a restaurant.

TPBM is tired of summer.

message 889: by Entropia (new)

Entropia | 283 comments yes, I wish I could just hibernate during summer and wake up when I won't feel constantly cooked .____.

TPBM likes watermelon

message 890: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Yessss I love watermelon and I recently discovered I love watermelon juice even more!

Yes, I definitely have vacation envy , but this happens every year since May through August is our busiest time at work.

TPBM has a summer birthday.

message 893: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
Nope, I'm a spring birthday in April.

TPBM likes cooking shows.

message 894: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments I love cooking shows (and so does my husband). Lidia, Bobby Flay, Nick Stellino, Top Chef — bring ‘em on!! Even as a kid I loved watching Julia Child (“This is Julia Child. Bon Appetit!”) on PBS. But her voice killed my mother ;))

TPBM is doing something non-summer-y this weekend.

message 895: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
School starts in a week and a half, so I'll probably spend the weekend lesson planning and reading the new edition of Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science to prepare. Not very summer-y!

TPBM likes Oreos.

message 896: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Oh yes! Love those double stuff Oreos.... much to my waist's dismay.

TPBM lives in a state or country that starts with a vowel.

message 897: by Sue (new)

TPBM is on track with their challenge!

message 898: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Yes, I'm 2 books ahead of schedule.

TPBM is looking for a job.
