(I’m actually excited to move in somewhere in the next few months, only not excited to house hunt. But let’s not think about this while travelling, shall we?)

TPBM likes decluttering

message 757: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I really, really enjoy it, but I feel like I declutter as I go, like... I don't sit down and get rid of stuff all at once.. I have a constant donation bag that I'm always adding to. So I don't often get to have the relief of throwing out a bunch of stuff at once.

TPBM celebrates Mardi Gras.

message 758: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) No, I don't. I don't think I have ever been to any kind of Mardi Gras celebration.

message 761: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Yes!!!!!! As a matter of fact, I have a meeting to go to do today to discuss my "career". Not looking forward to it. I feel like I'm going to throw up because what else am I going to do?? But I really just don't want to anymore. Cross your fingers I make the right choices.

TPBM has a meeting they REALLY don't want to go to today.

message 762: by Johanne (last edited Jan 24, 2019 05:07AM) (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments No, not today, fortunately. But I am following my son to football practice and it´s -3C (not Canadian I know). I may find some extra clothes and/or the nearby café, since they train outside year round. (He doesn´t freeze - they run around).

TPBM is having a much needed coffee break (I am)

message 763: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I don't drink coffee, but if I did, I'd be having one. I've been up since 5:30 grading papers, so I'm allowing myself some down time before my classes come in this morning.

TPBM is doing something fun this weekend.

Not a taco fan! Love quesadillas and burritos, though. I think it’s the melted cheese that sets it over the top!

TPBM doesn’t keep hundreds of unread emails (I never understand my coworkers who have 10K+ unread emails!)

TPBM is currently enrolled in a class.

message 780: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Haven't taken a class in a years and I LOVED classes and miss them terribly. If I lived anywhere near a university or college I would be auditing classes...never too old to learn.

TPBM sometimes reads books that feel like guilty pleasures.

message 781: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Absolutely... and sometimes books that I start to meet a prompt, for book club or because I "should" read them, turn out to be guilty pleasures as well.

message 786: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) If you stepped outside me door today, you would think spring has already arrived. Not to mention that the daffodils think so as well.

I never have! I went to New Orleans for the first time last March and loved it. I was just listening to a Jazzfest 2019 preview playlist last night while doing some school work.

TPBM loves going to concerts.

message 791: by Hilde (new)

Hilde (hilded) | 821 comments Yes, I love it! One of my favourite things to do. But I went more often in my twenties than I do now (mid-thirties). Am going to see Florence + The Machine next week though :)

TPBM enjoys travelling.

message 792: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Anderson (miss5elements) | 331 comments Absolutely! I was spoiled as I used to work for an airline in my twenties. I got to fly first class all over the US. Sigh... the good old days.

TPBM will splurge on a luxury every so often.

message 793: by Elena (new)

Elena | 18 comments Yes! While living in Hawaii, a few years back we had a scheduled power outage one weekend. My hubby got us a hotel room in Waikiki for the weekend. Turned out to be not the penthouse but pretty close. We got the "locals discount". Only ;) about $700 a night. It was worth it though.

TPBM has been to Hawaii

message 794: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments Back in the good old days...the seventies. It was so much different than today. Couldn't find a place to stay on Kauai and had to sleep in the rental car. found beaches with no one on them. Very few paved roads. It was great.
TPBM wishes for the good old days.

message 795: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Yes, I am always looking back to what seems like a much simpler and more honest time. I'm sure being young feeds into that. I miss my parents and would turn back the clock to any year that would put me in their presence one more time.

TPBM remembers the day Kennedy died.

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Emily wrote: "Still waiting for my Hogwarts letter!

I am!!! I've been in a funk so I'm looking forward to using my team to keep me accountable. I downgraded my yearly goal to 80 which put me 2 books ahead and then set it back up to 100 which puts me 2 books behind LOL. So I'm itching to catch up and the read- a -thons always help and I have fun doing them,

TPBM is freezing right now ( I just put on my robe and some leg warmers, I can't get warm)
