message 701: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments Yes to champagne! I was recently introduced to red champagne by my sister-in-law and it’s a new favorite. And a local pizza joint serves “pizza wine”, which is a sparkling, fizzy red Prosecco. Yum! I highly recommend.

TPBM is a crossword puzzle fanatic.

message 702: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments I don’t know if Id call myself a fanatic, but I do several crosswords every weekend.

Sara (phantomswife) No, my cats vetoed the idea.

message 707: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 59 comments Not typically (although it’s currently 12.30 am). I am typically a morning person.

The person below me had to shovel snow this weekend.

message 708: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
No snow here, although last night it did drop down to below freezing for the first time this season. Cold enough for me to wear a cozy sweater to work today.

TPBM is reading a paperback book.

message 709: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments I like savory breakfasts, am a crossword fanatic...I do them to increase my vocab. Of course I have dogs, hope to never shovel snow here this year, Really not a night owl, but a morning person...up at 5:30, outside at dawn. And I am reading a paperback right now.
TPBM hates it when they only get to answer the one question above them, instead of getting to answer a lot more...like I did.

message 710: by [deleted user] (new)

Not true. Ha I am way to lazy to write an entire page of answers.

TPBM is reading a book with more than two female characters.

message 711: by Johanne (last edited Jan 14, 2019 12:00PM) (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments Yes there are a lot of characters and probably half of them are female. The MC is a badass young woman of course! (Ravnenes hvisken/ Whisper of the Ravens). Based on Norse mythology set partly in Denmark, partly in other worlds, it´s GOOD. Probably going to use it for the something "cold" prompt since the Fimbulwinter that precede Ragnarok has come - prettty sure that´s where "Winter is coming" originates :) (Not from this book but from the myths about Ragnarok and Fimbul)

Sorry long speech.

TPBM should really be working, but is on GR instead ;) (I am)

message 712: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments Guilty as charged! Waiting for a client to arrive and since I only have a few minutes, I figured I wouldn't get anything done anyway so may as well check GR!

TPBM lives where it is freezing right now and is ready for Spring to arrive.

message 713: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments Nope -- just rainy and grey.

TPBM has written a book.

message 714: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
No, and I have no urge to. I'd much prefer to read the worlds that other people create for me.

TPBM enjoy(s)(ed) school and classes.

message 715: by Bryony (new)

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments Yes, I love learning.

TPBM is ready for bed about now. (It is almost 11pm in London so I’m not just being lazy!)

message 716: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I'm ready for bed and it's only 4 PM here haha! It's been a long, gloomy day.

TPBM is cooking/cooked supper tonight.

message 717: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments Does it count if I boiled up a bunch of stew meat and then everyone can do what they want with it?
TPBM has read a book so scary that it put them off reading anything for a while.

message 718: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments Does it count if I boiled up a bunch of stew meat and everyone can do there own choice with it?
TPBM has read a book so scary that it put them off reading for a while.

message 719: by Bryony (new)

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments Not really. The last scary book I read was The Wasp Factory and after reading it I actually wanted to immediately read something happier as a distraction so I could stop thinking about it. I guess the book was was more disturbing/upsetting than scary though.

TPBM loved visiting the library as a child.

message 720: by Janet (new)

Janet (jnabring) | 36 comments Absolutely LOVED visiting the library as a kid. It was my happy place. I remember having a salmon/orange library card with a metal bar, the physical card catalogs - which means I am officially old 😂 My dad used to take us Thursday nights when it was open late, then we’d stop by the town’s convenience store for candy. Gotta love a small town childhood.

TPBM has a ‘favorite’ library.

message 721: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I sure do. I am fortunate to live in a city with an incredible library and visit the beautiful Rose Main Reading Room at the NYPL whenever I can.

TPBM is currently reading a mystery.

message 722: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Yes, Into the Water is definitely a mystery.

TPBM reads more than one book at a time.

message 723: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I do, but I try to be careful that they are very different and I can't get confused. I usually have one physical book and one on the Kindle.

TPBM still enjoys children's books sometimes.

message 724: by Bryony (new)

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments I love children’s books! I have two children and we love reading picture books together. I also love re-reading books I loved as a child. I read almost all of Roald Dahl’a children’s books last year. I tell myself it’s so I remember the stories for when my little ones start reading them, but my son is two and my daughter is three weeks so it’ll be a little while before they’re ready for chapter books!

TPBM has to go to work today.

message 725: by Entropia (new)

Entropia | 283 comments I'm working from home, so I'm not really going anywhere ;)

TPBM was at least once guilt-tripped by a book.

message 726: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I don't know about guilt-tripped, but The Hate U Give and This is How It Always Is have both definitely made me think of my straight, white privilege and check my biases.

TPBM enjoyed the Harry Potter books.

message 727: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) I did enjoy the Harry Potter books. I would like to re-read them but so far have only managed the first couple of books.

TPBM is listening to an audiobook. ( I am) : )

message 728: by Steve (new)

Steve | 615 comments Robin (Saturndoo) wrote: "I did enjoy the Harry Potter books. I would like to re-read them but so far have only managed the first couple of books.

I am! I have a 40-minute commute each way so I do audiobooks to fill the time. I'm currently "reading" The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates. I also "read" Holes, Word by Word: The Secret Life of Dictionaries, and Brooklyn this year so far through audiobook.

TPBM is glad he/she didn't grow up in an era where there was social media (and social media drama)! (That's all I've dealt with today in the middle school... Instagram and Snapchat drama).

TPBM just read a book in one sitting

message 731: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I did Call for the Dead. It was only 160 pages and moved very fast. I must say I also hate social media.

TPBM wishes they had lived in another place or time.

Sometimes I do. Most of the time I like to read outside on the porch when the weather is nice or in my recliner chair if I have to be indoors.

TPBM is currently reading a mystery!

message 734: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments Yes, i do like to read in bed, but I read lots of other places as well.

TPBM enjoys fantasy novels.

message 737: by Hilde (new)

Hilde (hilded) | 821 comments I don't read them that often, but I often enjoy them when I do.

TPBM is planning a cozy evening with a movie from the AtY in 52 movies list.

message 738: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Nope, last night was a nice dinner out and then just some quiet talking. Tonight is rowdy game night with some friends! Cant wait.

TPBM got snow last night ( we did but it didn't stick, Saturday is supposed to be a weather nightmare, we'll see)

message 739: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy | 910 comments Nope -- in San Francisco Bay area it rarely snows.

TPBM lives in a city.

message 740: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) No, I live in about as rural an area as you could find. I have lived in the city and I do not wish to return. But, I do miss museums!

TPBM thinks breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

message 741: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments Yes...and lunch...and dinner.
TPBM has been to a museum or art gallery in the last month.

message 742: by Bryony (new)

Bryony (bryony46) | 1081 comments Yes, I went to our local museum on Monday. I love it there, the displays are fascinating and they also have great exhibitions and activities for children.

TPBM likes classical music.

message 743: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) I have always been told it is although I rarely eat breakfast. I usually work evening shift so my first meal of the day is usually dinner LOL

TPBM can't wait until spring and summer get here : )

message 744: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I love classical music, particularly fond of piano concertos, and yes I will be happy to see spring. I am not a winter person.

TPBM has read War and Peace.

message 745: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11215 comments Mod
I have not, but I did read Anna Karenina last year, and I didn't hate it... maybe War and Peace is on the horizon for me.

TPBM is already planning vacations for summer.

Yes! My wife and I are going to plan our honeymoon this weekend. And I’m trying to figure out my spring break plans.

TPBM feels like the price per cookie ratio for Girl Scout cookies is too high!

message 747: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1148 comments Not really. It is a fundraiser after all. No worse than the price of popcorn from the Cub Scouts. That said, I'm old enough to remember selling cookies for 50 cents a box (really) which was a much better price per cookie.

TPBM is in the path of the winter storm moving across the U.S. this weekend.

Yes, we are. Getting lots of rain that is turning to snow. We are under a flood advisory until Monday : (

TPBM likes the snow.

message 749: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) No, I hate it. It cripples us and so often comes with power outages. While that didn't seem to bother me much when I was young, I find it a little frightening now.

TPBM sleeps late on Sunday.

message 750: by Deena (new)

Deena Abutaha (mwinamman) | 67 comments Nope only because in Jordan the week starts on Sunday. But I definitely sleep in on the weekend.
TPBM: prefers tea over coffee
