I had no clue that this was based on real people when I downloaded the audiobook to my phone. Ernest Hemingway seems to be a complete ass. Never read any of his books and now I'm curious.
Will always remind me of going for runs in the field behind my office at lunch.

Listened to the audiobook. Feel asleep a lot. Needed to renew hold from library frequently.
Thought I would enjoy it more than I did. Maybe I would have if I had read it in a less choppy way.

Like a big promo pamphlet for why you should hire JBA. Only one in my department who hasn't been sent to detailed Lean training. Strange since I had asked about these concepts years ago. But that is disgruntled digression and I'm trying to work in reducing those this year too.
Thought I'd better read it to keep up with the latest jargon.
Didn't give me any real tools.

I asked for a recommendation on a book set during the plague. I received this exactly 3 years before I finished it!

I read this recently, too. Good, isn't it?

I saw the movie, too. It was good.

How funny that the tickets were a year old.

Yeah I've read so many WWII books I'm now always a bit hesitant to pick them up - but this one does sound good and has had rave reviews. Will keep an eye out for it at the library.

Have you read

Totally relate. I've added some and then by the time I get to them, I can't think why on earth I added them to my tbr list.

Did end up enjoying this when I went back to it. Recommend the audiobook as it has the music and flaws other reviewers mention aren't as evident.

Loved the twists. Easy read. Thanks hubby for this bedtime story."
Jennifer, what did you make of Amy? - she was psycho but the idea that she simply played roles all her life without ever really knowing who she really was. And the ending? I think, on 7th anniversary, she'll kill Nick and pretend that Desi Collings' mother did it as revenge (!) The way the story ended it sounded like she didn't like what Nick said and would teach him a lesson. I hope the book has a sequel! Go and Boney try to bring her down kind of thing!

Lots that I never thought about buy you're right, they did seem to set up for a sequel.

The first part made me feel fear. How fragile is the normal life as
Wonderful book about society, war, fear and the decisions we made.

July 2016 after over 3 years I just started letting the audiobook run. Is that a toss or a finish? A little of both.
i guess I'm done as the audiobook stopped playing!?! i an ready to watch the movie to figure out what i heard. i don't think you should read this as an audiobook before bed. realky enjoyed the sections i listened to while on the highway driving (glad I didn't sleep in those parts). Left me wondering what the hype is.

Not sure why it left me wanting something more (different). This is the ending that had to happen. Why are these characters so 2 dimensional?

Loved the concept but the man has no clue about teens anymore and should stop writing from that perspective.

Once I'd had a break from reading WWII books, this was enjoyable. I've heard it called a mix of Great Gatsby and Highlander. It reminded me of The Paris Wife and Highlander with an attempt at Nightingale.
It's not as good at Nightingale at presenting WWII. At first the distance works as the characters really live in their own little world but as the book progresses the bits about the war come out of no where.
The narrater had a strange anxious reading style.
After my stretch of so-so books, I'm tempted to rate it a 4 but it really is a 3-3.5

I was thinking the same thing and would love to recommend some of the classics like Ender's Game, Brave New World, The Handmaid's Tale or 1984 to some of these kids.
