Do we have anyone among us who is not 21? That would make a difference between a bar and a coffee shop.

Good point. I'm always for a nice little tipple. :D
I'm eighteen, either or seems fine with me....I don't drink anyhow, avoid that stuff like the plague.
Better shoot for a coffee shop or a pub during the day. Best if everyone can join.
Hi everyone...
If we do a meetup, I'm thinking it should be at night or on a weekend. I'm not sure if Starry Nites at Central will be open on Saturdays in the future. They haven't made much $$$ the last 2 Saturdays. We could do Boulder on Alexander. They have plenty of space. Any other suggestions?

Hey! It's March!
My bandwidth just opened up and now I have a little extra time to spend on helping set up a meetup.
Please indicate what works best with your work schedule and we can see if we can make this happen. Thanks!

Would love to get together with other people reading for the challenge and get some more suggestions.
So I was wondering if a fun meetup would be spending an afternoon wandering the closed stacks in the Rundel Building. There's lots of fiction down there, but also history & other topics. We could spend some time in the stacks then maybe meet for coffee at Starry Nites. It would have to be a Saturday, though. Thoughts?
Let's try for Saturday April 30 at 1:00 pm. Margaret, is that one of your "off' weekends?
We'll gather on the first floor of Rundel and go down to the stacks. We'll hang out down there for a couple hours then go have some coffee, although I need to check to make sure Starry Nites will be open in the afternoon.

Yes it is. Scratch May 14. We may have to postpone this kind of meetup until the Fall....

So if we can't do a daytime trip to the Rundel stacks until the fall, we could do a Saturday evening at Boulder coffee. Should I send out a poll to decide which Saturday evening gets the most votes?

Good catch! I know I'll be a "little crazy" that day!
Re-boot on the Rundel Stacks idea - I am going to be at Rundel this Saturday, April 30, from around 1-4:30. I won't be in the stacks the entire time, but if anyone wants to join me, we can meet up around 12:30 and I can show you around then let you explore.

Saturday evenings at 7ish was a nearly unanimous choice -- only one person did not select Saturday 7ish as an option.
I've created a new poll to narrow down an actual date. This poll includes Saturdays in May and June. Please select the dates you're available, and we'll get together at Boulder Coffee on Alexander. Don't worry if you can't make it this time. We'll do it again using "second place" parameters next time. :)

Okay, I am assuming from the lack of replies that no one is planning to come to Rundel today. Hope you are all outside enjoying what looks to be a gorgeous day!!!
